About Me

I'm guessing it's time for a re-write of my about page!

I didn't manage to hit my target for my 40th birthday on February 10th 2015, my low point of my weight, as it were, was hit on Christmas Eve 2014 when I reached 13st 9½lbs and I felt fab. Since then, illness has seen most of that weight go back on, and so here I am again, back on the weight loss path to get back into my size 14 skinny jeans!

This blog is mainly going to be about my journey. The ups and downs as I head to my target, I'm planning on blogging every day, so this shall be part food diary, part recipe book, and part insight into the weird little world I and the animals live in :)

The cast of, erm, a few, will mainly consist of:

Me, of course - aiming to get back to looking like this as soon as possible!

Bayleigh Boo - my 10 year old Basset Hound, supposed Body Magic tool. Spends most of her time sleeping.
Tink and Lulu - 5 year old Pug sisters, who arrived in late 2014. Hilarious, farty, supercute little monkeys
Phoenix (Phee) - a beautiful ginger tabby Princess who is shyer than a shy thing after a bit of a rough time in her little life so far, she's just turned two.

TOK - BFF, diet buddy, cream tea enabler, Pug Mummy and sister in all but name who lives far too far away :o(

Hague - ex boyfriend, kickboxer and roomie!

Other, more peripheral characters may include The Parentals, my little sister Clairey, her husband Gary and her gorgeous girls Jenna and Carys.

Locations will include, but are not limited to....

Great Yarmouth - where I live.

Norwich - where I work.
Carlton Colville - where the family live.

So there you have it, me, and this blog in a teeny, tiny nutshell. Enjoy!

  14. Hi Karen I have just found your blog. It is very helpful indeed and thank you for taking the trouble of doing it. I lost almost 6 stone on a very low calorie diet two years ago and battling like crazy with keeping it off. I'm not winning :( and have regained three stone :(. Thinking of joining SW online as quite honestly, I hate the idea of a class. I'm quite a private person and have little time to attend anyway. What do you think of 'online' is it worth the money? I have found a voucher code that gives me Gold membership for the price of Bronze. x

    1. I love SW, simply as it's not a diet, it's just making healthy choices, and as such is a sustainable way of eating.
Personally I would recommend going to group, as the support you get is truly amazing.
If you really can't see yourself joining a group, and feel motivated enough to go it alone joining online is better than not joining up at all :)
Please let me know what you decide, and how you get on.

    1. I quite like that idea, I do try and out recipes up when it's a bit complicated :)
I'm an Essex girl by birth, but I love it here in Great Yarmouth x

  16. Blimey...I worked in Romford and lived in Barking for 9 years.....so Essex is close to my heart too!! I went out at lunchtime and bought a whole pile of bits after reading lots of entries of your blog. I'm doing extra easy so only 1 HEa and b for me, but I love that you can eat so much. I've souped for tomorrow, and made SW scotch eggs for tonight with a big salad and chips! Thanks for the oomph I've needed. I'll be a regular round here xx

It's what I love about SW, I had an enormously hungry day on Friday, but I didn't go off plan, I just didn't stop eating!

  17. We are thinking (the man and myself) of starting AS but have a dilemma - the man is diabetic so not sure how we can incorporate the no dairy/cereal into his routine? Cooked brekkies are out as he has to eat within 15 mins of getting up :/ x

  24. Hi Karen, I have to say I have dipped in and out of your blog for a while now you are amazing! My name is Lucy, in 2008 I lost 8 stone on slimming world and loved it. After having my second child in 2010 lost 4 stone on slimming world, and nearly back to target weight. However in the last 4 years I have gone off track!! Starting slimming world again this week with the hope of losing my initial 8 stone I have now gained again. You are such an inspiration X X X
