Celebrity Status and Sticky Fingers

Well yesterday was certainly a day of two halves that's for sure. From fabulous highs to coming right back down to earth with a big ol' sticky bump! Such is my life!

I had trouble keeping myself up on Sunday night, and then had trouble keeping myself asleep during the day yesterday. I was rather fidgety and only properly dropped off around midday again, and woke up with a start at 3 ready to get up and at 'em for a very exciting outing! First things first though, and I got myself fed.

A quick and easy staple there, muesli, fruit and yogurt, eaten with a coffee before I got myself dressed and headed into town for our radio debut! I was SO excited, and rather nervous, as beyond a few "hello's" on Keith's show (which Dan produces), I've never been on air before. We'd done a bit of prep, and sorted out some tunes, but it's still rather daunting to be faced with 2 hours of time to fill! The show is all geared towards ways to help the local community get fitter and healthier, sharing tips and ideas and ways that people can get involved in activities that can improve their fitness.

It was fantastic fun - it really seemed to go well, and we got quite a bit of interaction on the Harbour Radio Facebook Page which was brilliant, as that's what we want, to reach the community! I've added in a radio tuner to the sidebar of this blog, so if you fancy listening next week just click to hear us :) After bouncing out of the studio, really buzzing with excitement, especially as the radio station manager seemed to like what we did, we headed home where I needed to get myself fed before heading to work :o(

After discussing some of my favourite meals on the show, it was no surprise that I plumped for cheesey pasta! I headed into work early, as my route into work is being hugely disrupted by roadworks and part of the way in was closed, so I went the long way. The lack of diversion signs though has given me hope that I won't need to head in quite so early for the rest of the week. My shift started off rather annoyingly with me walking straight into a changeover, and to be quite frank, it went massively downhill from there, with issues practically all night. Frustrating at the best of times, even worse when you're running a sugary product so as well as getting covered in juice, you get all sticky too. Lovely.

I only managed a couple of breaks as well due to the line playing up, and I wasn't massively hungry either, so work food only looked like this...

Told ya I wasn't very hungry! After a crap-tastic shift, with me tired, grumpy, headachey and sticky my mind then turned to food, bad food, hugely synful, off plan food. I really don't know what's come over me at the moment but these urges for crap are definitely getting more frequent that I'd like. I argued with myself for the last few hours at work, and even on the way home, but in the end, I went to Tesco, but only filled up with petrol, not crap and came home and ate the rest of the food I'd taken into work instead.

I feel rather proud of myself for that! I'm sure the more I fight these urges the easier it will become to get over them and to get all that steely focus back that I had for so long. After eating my snackage it was time to settle down and try and get some sleep ready for weigh in and work once more.

A contrasting day indeed! It would be rather marvellous if I could make a living being a writer/broadcaster, but alas, right now it's getting covered in sugary squash that pays the bills!

If you do want to listen to the show next time, you can go to www.harbourradio.co.uk, click on the radiotuna player on the sidebar, or search for harbour radio on any online radio station search, you should find us! It would be brilliant to get more interaction, more inspiration and more stories to share. Guess I'd better leave it there as weigh in is looming, as is work *sigh* talk about back to earth with a bump! Here's hoping my fabulous MayCation didn't cause another 11lb's worth of damage O.O
