Grumpy Old Bag!

After my very long night shift I had a rather long sleep, not emerging until gone 5pm. I needed it though, I'd felt absolutely shattered. I got up, had a coffee and spent half an hour having a "5 minute chat" with a lovely lady who might be interested in getting my story into some magazines and then got around to sorting out my dinner. Reasonably low effort today, an oven baked veggie risotto, much heavier on the veg side of things as we were a tad low on rice!

There's all sorts of veggies hiding in there, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, onion, celery and some cherry tomatoes. Once it was cooked I stirred through 75g of reduced fat soft cheese. I followed it up with a breakfasty kind of dessert...

I've got the Dorset Cereals nutty muesli in at the moment (as it was on offer in Asda), and as it's really nutty it tastes like I'm just having mixed nuts, which to me is rather a dessert type of thing, and so I had my HeB's worth with some figs and yogurt before heading out to work.

Work was really busy, I didn't stop until really late into the shift, which is rather poo as by the time things had calmed down Hague had gone to bed, and so my little bit of work sanity, namely lots of emails between us, was denied to me in favour of being stupidly busy. At least the time went sort of quickly! Food wise I went a bit retro!

Quite a traditional looking lunch there eh? I quite fancied cheese rolls, and so that's what I had, along with the crisps and yogurt, it looks pretty standard lunch fare, which makes a change for me!

The rest of my work food was quite standard though. Despite being really tired and having very sore feet after work I had said I'd do a bit of exercise when I got in, and much as I wasn't in the mood for it I made a pact with myself in the car....if the water was on (so there was hot water) I'd just get straight in a bath, if it wasn't, I might as well do something whilst it heated was off, and so onto the Air Walker I went for half an hour whilst watching some of the Food Unwrapped Diet Special on 4OD. I'm not entirely sure what I thought of it, as to me, a lot of it was downright common sense. Some of the items looked at were:

Detoxing, specifically products that claim to detox you - your body does it for surprise there.
Aspartame - it isn't going to kill us all. I think you all know my views on that gem by now ;o)
Fruit juice - it contains a lot of sugar. Really? This is a revelation to people?
Low fat ready meals might be a labelling con - again, surely this is general knowledge?
Cheese, not the devil - again, I think if you read my blog you'll know just how much I love my cheese, and it doesn't seem to be affecting my losses!

I didn't watch it all, mainly as I wanted to sleep, and I had to get out of the bath but I felt it wasn't exactly a high level investigation into anything diet related, still, if it stops some of the all too regular Aspartame Will Kill Us All posts on Facebook, then I'll be happy :o)

Anyway, I shall jump down off my soapbox and get a food diary up for you all, which unsurprisingly contains cheese ;o) Oh, and share my bath snackage!

So another day done and dusted, and another day closer to the weekend! It seems to have been a long old week and I'm only three shifts into it! I'm also fighting against lots of minor annoyances which always seem to make things worse don't you think? Nothing major enough to properly upset you, but just enough to put you in a low level bad mood...things such as why it's always the person who bought the most expensive item you sold on Ebay that doesn't feel the need to pay, and why Royal Mail seem to lose around a quarter of items posted with them, as I'm now waiting on three things which I'm pretty sure are lost.

Here's hoping the looming weekend dismisses the grouchiness as I am definitely not my chirpy little self at the moment.
