Eep and Eek and Squee and Stuff!

Much as it's been a tiring couple of days, with me hitting the hay before 7pm last night, it's also been a very exciting couple of days as well! 2014 seems to be picking up nicely!

Except for the early starts that is....Friday was another 4.30am start, pretty standard really, except for me hassling Hague via email to go and pick up the local paper :o)

I was hugely excited about seeing the story, and was so pleased that Hague got in there too! It's about time we had a decent shot of us both too! Quite scary really to see how far I've come, just look at those jeans! O.O

Anyway, I didn't get to see that until I got home, which was after I'd got through work, fuelled by this little lot...

I was rather hungry! My muesli had the addition of a persimmon, as it was a tad past its best, hazards of shopping day! As the house was rather bereft of food once I'd had a look at the (multiple) copies of the Great Yarmouth Mercury it was off to Asda and Aldi for a stock up, and for once we came in under budget! It's a miracle!

When we got in, Hague kindly rustled me up a spag bol, which I topped with both my HeA's worth of reduced fat mozzarella.

It was rather delicious, and there was rather a lot of it, but by the time I ate (at about 5pm) I was really hungry! So hungry in fact that I followed it up with a dessert of fruit, yogurt and a Graze box of pickyness.

Really tasty, and with that eaten, I was too weary for anything but bed, armed with a hot chocolate, and I nodded off almost straight away!

Despite being thoroughly excited about seeing myself in print (and online) I did go to sleep almost straight away, and so wasn't feeling too hideous when I dragged myself out of bed at 4.30 again. Thank goodness I have a lovely week of nights coming up, followed by two more weeks of nights! At least I'll feel human! Anyway, off to work I went and luckily we weren't there too long, and in a change to the norm I had my breakfast during my first break just after 7am, something which might have been a mistake.

We were only in work until just after 10, and so I only had one more break whilst I was there...

Then I was free!!! Yay!!! It's always a tricky one when I get out of work after 10am, it's that smidge too late to really go back to bed, but I was still tired. I'm really no good with decisions, even ones like "sleep or not", I'm that indecisive. In the end, by the time I'd picked up some FB bargain t-shirts and popped to Asda it was closing in on midday, and I was rather hungry and I wanted to head into town and so sleep lost out.

I was inspired by TOK and had bacon rolls, followed by some reduced blueberries with yogurt. We were in need of some more toasted couscous, and the sales are still on, so I figured I'd have a mooch into town. It wasn't the most successful of outings, I managed to get the couscous, and found some 3½ syn WW crisps that look quite nommy, but the purchase I was most excited about, a rocket lolly flavoured lip balm was a huge disappointment....

So now my plan for total hibernation until Hague gets home on Monday has been thwarted by the need to return an empty lip balm tube. Yes, it was only £1.50, and yes I will be returning it! My mind was elsewhere by the time I got home though, namely my stomach as I was rather peckish and so got started on some, hmmm, lunch? I'd already eaten two was it lunch? I'm plumping for my (Quorn) bacon rolls being brunch, and so my jacket spud was actual lunch.

It was topped with low fat cottage cheese and my HeA of cheddar along with a rather yummy side salad. The main business of the day could then begin, or so I thought. I got settled in my pyjamas on the sofa and started to plough my way through Come Dine With Me...until I saw a message from my Consultant, Claire saying my story was in another local paper today! This one has a much wider distribution area than the one from yesterday and so on went some outdoor clothes and off I went to get yet another newspaper :o)

Still seems odd that that is me! Of course I had to celebrate...

I'm such a hedonist! That kept me going whilst I carried on with CDWM, getting a very quick dinner sorted out in between episodes.

Green soup again, which is just onions, garlic and green veggies (sprouts, broccoli, spinach, peas, cabbage and leeks) boiled up in veggie stock with herbs and seasoning. I added in a couple of blue cheese Laughing Cows as well as I still had half a HeA to use up. I had planned on the buttons being bath snacks, but I'm feeling utterly shattered and so will be heading to bed once you are all up to date!

I seem to have eaten my body weight in free and superfree foods today, but I blame the stupidly early start as it meant I had to have an extra meal - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Despite being rather weary and involving a disappointing lip balm today, has been rather nice, I don't think I'll ever stop getting excited about seeing my story in the paper, and if it inspires just one person to join Slimming World and achieve their dream of being at a healthy weight then I would be over the moon about it (and if you do ever join because of me, please let me know, I'd love to keep in touch to see how you get on).

Speaking of which, if you DO want to join, the Mirror has got vouchers for free membership in there for the next few days, and some recipe books too. As for me, I'd best get myself up to bed before I nod off completely. At 9pm on a Saturday. Perhaps I really am going to be 40 next year ;o)

  1. WOW! As a new member of slimming world you are such an inspiration to me!

  2. I didn't JOIN because of you, but because of you I will not QUIT this time like I did last time!
