Wins and Wins!

It's been a long couple of days, yesterday morning seems about a week ago, rather than just a matter of hours. It was a rather annoying day really, as the rest of my team, bar one other person, were finishing work for Christmas due to the combination of our week off, and our roster shifting along a week means my team are off for a fortnight, however, my Week In, the one week off that I have to work is next week, so alas, no fortnight off for me.

Anyway, for all intents and purposes, for me it was just another work day, and as I got up just about in time again it was yet another quick breakfast, figs, mango and muesli.

You can tell we need to go shopping ;o) Not long afterwards I headed out to work. I arrived to be told that I'd won a prize in the Christmas raffle, always a good thing, especially when it's a litre of whisky! So obviously I was in a rather chirpy mood. I didn't have any snacks for my first break as we were having our "Christmas Dinner" as the canteen meal only has one sitting, the shifts on Lates and Nights get a takeaway, and our choice was Chinese or KFC. I went for the more SW and veggie friendly Chinese.

Tofu in black bean sauce with boiled rice, as both chicken and beef in black bean sauce are both 5 syns a serving, I'm going with that as a ball park figure. I followed it up with my apple :o) The rest of the shift moseyed on nicely and soon enough it was over and done with and I could head home. I was shattered, and so I only fancied something quick and light for dinner. Hague obliged by sorting me out tomato soup and cheese on toast.

For some reason, rather than lounging about for a while and then heading to bed, Hague suggested going to get the shopping. At 12.30am. At least it was quiet! As well as the food shopping, I picked myself up some new pants - can't keep wearing ones that now look more like bloomers! The day finally ended at around 3.30, when a very weary me crawled into bed.

Why is it that when you set an alarm, you wake up when it goes off feeling groggy and awful, but when you don't set an alarm you wake up earlier feeling just fine and dandy? I woke up just after 10am, feeling absolutely fine, whereas all week I've been struggling to get up by 11.30! One of the mysteries of life I guess! We ligged in bed for a fair while, only really moving as Hague wanted to get to his kick boxing at 1 o'clock. I got myself a nice cooked breakfast instead.

We do seem to have a bit of an issue though - our hob has cracked, which is a worry - and the rings only seem to now have two settings, off and inferno. Not good when you like to cook your eggs on a low heat nice and slowly. Oh well, that'll be the house savings gone again :o(

Anyway, whilst breakfast was being nommed the postman arrived with more parcels, although once more without the Amazon Prime parcels that should have been delivered today. So that's four out of four now that haven't arrived when they should - not impressed. I was happy that pressies had arrived though, as I wanted to get started on my wrapping. First things first though, and I headed into town not long after Hague had departed for his helping of violence. It really was a beautiful day on the East Coast, bright and chilly, a perfect day for Christmas shopping.

I had a general wander and picked up a few more pressies, including one for myself as a treat for losing 11 stone.

A gorgeous Soap & Glory goody bag, reduced from £60 down to £27, rude not to, and a MUCH better treat than anything foodie....

.....except maybe a Costa :o) I splashed out the extra syns on a large latte today. I also had a red lipstick kind of day! Hague met me in Costa, and so we enjoyed our coffee's before heading home, him to some food and me to some serious wrapping!

A large coffee, presents, wrapping thingums and of course a Christmassy film! I got everything wrapped up and then got myself some lunch/dinner sorted. Something quick as time was escaping from me rather rapidly!

By the time my cheesey pasta was all nommed up, it was time for me to head out. I had a long drive ahead of me, from Yarmouth to Coventry as tomorrow is a bit of a motivational/meet up kind of day organised by the rather fabulous WeightLossBitch. It'll be the first time we've actually met and I can't wait. I'm also seeing TOK once more so was rather excited! With the car laden down with food, me and presents off I headed.

Unfortunately, the tireds hit rather quickly and so I had to stop for a sugar free Relentless. I then hit a diversion, which is never fun, but when it's 9.30pm, you have no idea where you are and are knackered it's hugely frustrating. The thing is, you never know if it's best to follow your SatNav or the diversion signs if you don't know where you're going, and so I ended up adding 30 minutes and about 25 miles to my journey and so it was 10.30 before I arrived at the hotel. Luckily I'd brought very quick food supplies with me, and so got that sorted whilst I had myself a nice soak whilst catching up (at last) with the final week of Masterchef.

With all my food eaten, and me clean, shiny and tucked up in bed, all that remains is for me to share a non-scale victory with you. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that over a year ago I posted a blog about some of the reasons I have for losing weight. One of those was to be able to grab any old bath towel and not look like a hula dancer with a huge gap in the towel. At my biggest, the only towel that would go around me was an extra large bath sheet, something you don't find in hotels, all you get is your bog standard bath towel, not even a bath sheet, and prior to losing weight, they were close to useless. This was me today, after my bath :o)

Plenty of towel = a very happy Karen!

Food Diary (Saturday)

Free food
low fat Quorn sausages
cherry tomatoes

Healthy Extras
A - 350ml skimmed milk (in Costa latte)
A - 60g LowLow
B - 60g LowLow
B - 2 Alpen lights

milk in tea (3)                         1½
large gingerbread latte             5½ (6 taken off for the milk)
Danio blueberry yogurt           3
Ainsley couscous                    1½

Total syns                              11½

Today has been rather lovely overall if I gloss over the diversion. When I got in from town I was literally bouncing with Christmas spirit, and with the day ending with such huge non-scale victory I can settle down to sleep with a smile on my face, even more so as tomorrow promises to be rather fabulous! I can't wait to see what fun we'll have!
