Okay, so it's not actually December 25th, but for me, once work is done, it's Christmas! My last day at work was yesterday, and I'll be honest, I was probably a bloody nightmare to work with (sorry Darren!).

I was tired when I got up, but I think the excitement of knowing I was just 8 hours away from the end of work kept me going. As has become usual this week me and Hague had a wee chat whilst my alarm did its snoozy thing and I got ready for work, it's made a nice change! Anyway, all too soon I headed off to work, spent the day getting all excited - luckily Darren (who I've been working with this week) was in a brilliantly festive mood too, and didn't mind me counting down the minutes until the end of the shift. The machines once more behaved pretty well, and so we got plenty of breaks in too, and my noms were like this...

In a huge change from the norm I had some Babybels for my first break, and I also had an apple and a HiFi bar too, but the picture has gone awol somewhere! Breakfast was toasted couscous mixed with All Bran chocolate crunch, a banana and two of the Liberte yogurts. Really lovely! Anyway, I finally finished with my Christmas bounciness just before 2 and couldn't wait to get myself home to Hague, however, whilst I was at work it dawned on me that I don't have a gravy boat. Rather a grown up dilemma to have I grant you, but as we only have a couple of jugs in the house, and we'll need two different gravies on Christmas Day, I figured it was as good a time as any to join the realms of the adult world and so I stopped on the way home to pop to Tesco to pick up these rather cute little jugs (along with a snack dish as they were 3 for 2)

With such an exciting purchase sorted, it was time to get me a Hague and then head out to Aldi for the normal shopping and the Aldi Christmas bits, including the cranberry sauce Hague wanted and some Stollen bites for me, which are 6 syns each! Eep! Once we were home, I was rather peckish and so had the leftover MitchyStrone soup, followed by a Danio.

After a quick talk to a journalist, who had found the blog, I decided to get myself a nice soak, to wash away the working week :o)

With snackage of course, and I was accompanied (via 4OD) by Heston Blumenthal doing magical things with fish and chips, and so I shall blame him for the rest of the evening! I was peckish after my bath, but feeling lazy, so had a very quick dinner.

Yes, I had had both my HeB's before dinner, but decided to syn my HiFi bar to squeeze in some bread, no superfree either. Bad, bad Karen! Not long after I'd eaten dinner, I felt hungry again. I was chatting to TOK and she was trying her best to persuade me that I wasn't hungry at all - but the worms in my tummy won the argument and so I did myself some more chippies!

They finally shut up the worms and I was finally satisfied when I got myself up to bed not long after 10!

I slept quite well, but was woken up far too early, at half 6 by my alarm, not for work, but to take Hague to the station, as he's spending the weekend with his boys! He was rather excited and he was in a rather chirpy mood as I dropped him at the station. I then got myself back into my lovely warm cosy bed. For hours. Only stirring again at gone midday. Lovely. Not long after that the postman arrived, with the last Christmas present, plus a couple of bits I'd treated myself to including this rather fabulous t-shirt.

After such excitement, I got myself ready for Saturday. Pyjamas on, a coffee made and a me firmly glued onto the sofa! Breakfast was quick, as I really didn't know what I fancied and so really went for something more resembling brunch as it was rather late!

Noodles, with tons of mushrooms and spinach, and topped with eggs, for some reason it hit the spot perfectly! When I checked the Sky+ box, I noticed there was just 2% free, not exactly ideal just before Christmas, and so I set out to get as many episodes of Come Dine With Me watched as possible, whilst doing the very important tasks of the day, such as nattering to TOK and painting my nails :)

I was rather pleased with how they came out, although I'm now pondering whether I need some green glitter on those gold ones :)

The day then passed rather pleasantly, with much coffee, much nattering, especially on the need for a portal between Great Yarmouth and Bristol, and much JadeyPuss falling off the windowsill! After such a hectic day, I was obviously getting peckish and so went for another quick and easy option, oven baked risotto.

Another fine example of why Slimming World isn't a "diet" there, a gorgeous creamy, cheesey risotto! It's so easy too, just chop the veg and oven roast them, then once they're cooked throw in the rice and stock and put back into the oven til the rice is cooked, then stir in some reduced fat soft cheese! Done! I topped mine with Stilton too, as it's a HeB on a Green day. I thoroughly enjoyed it I must say, and Boo seemed to enjoy licking the bowl as well.

With Come Dine With Me starting to bore me slightly, I went for the slightly faster option of just deleting the ones that didn't say they were new, and got to only 39% full on the Sky box. Result! I then decided to go a bit left field with my final HeB....I've always wondered about the slightly random cooked apple and mincemeat healthy extra, and as we have some mincemeat in the cupboard I figured, why not, and gave it a go.

I really splashed out the syns on my dessert too, with two extra tablespoons of mincemeat and a whole pot of Tesco's low fat custard, so 11 syns and a HeB, but it was so worth it, a proper, filling, comforting, festive dessert! It's what they're there for though.

So now my "busy" Saturday is drawing to a close, and I'm still watching Come Dine With Me whilst I listen to the wind and rain howling around outside. Just one more task remains for today, wrapping up the few naked presents I still have left to do, which I'll follow up with hot chocolate and a viewing of Elf in bed. Tomorrow brings a visit to The Parentals, and very probably more of this sitting malarkey before the second stage of Christmas can begin on Monday once Hague is home.

Strangely enough, for a Hague free day, I've had a proper nice day. Sometimes you do just need a lazy old day, vegging in front of the sofa watching your favourite kind of crap telly! Thanks must go to the fabulous TOK for keeping me company all day long, it's normal to actually run your phone battery down in a few hours just by texting isn't it?
