'Orrible 12's and Odd TasteBuds

Yesterday was a 12 hour shift, so my day didn't consist of much more than work, dinner, bath and bed - not too exciting I'm afraid! Work food was shaped like this...






Plenty to keep me going there! Work did have one rather exciting highlight. For months now I've been getting told off my Hague every time I get dressed for work as my work clothes are getting a teeny bit too big. It doesn't bother me, as I work in a factory, a factory that can get a wee bit warm and my job involves a bit of lifting and carrying and bending and climbing and so I'm happy to have plenty of room to move. However, the time had come to admit that Hague might just have a point and so I enquired about getting some new work clothes...



A size Large :) The trousers are a 38" waist (for they are men's trousers as my work is a bit stupid like that). When I started on my SW journey I had bought my own trousers from Ebay as I was too embarrassed to ask for the size I needed to be ordered. They were a 56" waist. The t-shirt I was wearing with those was a 4XL. Obviously I'd sized down a bit since then, and was wearing 2XL tops teamed with 44" trousers. Hopefully I won't have to order too many more lots of work clothes before I get to target now :o) I *think* the last time I was in 38" waist trousers for work was when I was 19 and starting my apprenticeship!

Anyway, with such a wonderful Non Scale Victory, work wasn't too bad - although it was far too long and I was muchly tired and was rather pleased when I finally got home, although I didn't have too long with Hague as he was heading out to get his head kicked in again.

For some reason, I had a dinner in mind, the idea had taken hold whilst I was at work, and didn't waver and so I ended up with exactly what I'd fancied, which was this creation...


Chips, topped with peppers, mushrooms and quorn fillets then a whole tub of LowLow dumped on top. Odd maybe, but delicious. I followed it up with the last of my M&S yogurts, and then headed up for a soak whilst I watched The Great British Bake Off and then snuggled up into bed.

So onto today, just the 8 hours at work, but once again I woke up a tad weary, at least it's sort of HumpDay today, only sort of as I have to work on Saturday too :o(

Nothing too exciting happened today though, although as has become the norm, TOK kept me company for most of the day, so my sanity levels weren't too bad!




I'm staring to wonder just how many pictures of a banana, Benefit bar and a coffee I've unleashed into the interwebz by now. It's just the perfect kick start for me though when I'm at work. Rice pudding was the breakfast of choice, with nectarine today as the fruit stocks are running low, I also mixed up the HeB's a bit with a Bear yoyo. My last break was courtesy of Graze and an apple. Quite restrained food wise for me today I thought! I couldn't wait to get home, just to chill out and relax. Lunch was nice and simple though, as I still had leftovers in the fridge.


The remainder of my Greek beans, with two fabulous slices of cheese on toast. I do love how perfectly 40g of reduced fat cheese fits onto a slice of bread from a 400g loaf. Slimming World truly is magic hehe. As I found some blueberries lurking in the fridge, that was dessert. 


It wasn't long after I'd finished eating that Hague came in and so we had rather a pleasant afternoon together before we decided to hit the gym. Our little gym upstairs, which consists of rather a few machines now! We both did 15 minutes of rowing and air walking, obviously swapping halfway. I had wanted to go swimming, but it's only general swimming today, which means no lanes and I didn't fancy trying to swim through people and so home gym it was. 

My mind then turned to dinner - and once more my mind fancied something rather eclectic.


I know, it looks really weird, but it tasted rather nice. There is a roasted butternut squash under a tin of the Asda smartprice macaroni cheese, which I mixed with spring onions, cherry tomatoes and mustard before microwaving it. I then accompanied it with poached eggs on spinach. Of course. Once again, it was exactly what I fancied. Got to worry about my taste buds at times! Just a few grapes for dessert as we are literally down to the bare bones of fruit now and I still have two shifts to work before we go shopping!

So there we have it, Wednesday is done and dusted, well almost. I'm heading up for a quick soak to get myself nice and sleepy before bed. Tomorrow shall hopefully bring a little adventure as I'm having an explore after work....new scenery for my penultimate Couch to 5K run!
