Unicorns On A Pug Driven Bus

I was rather tired when I got up on Thursday, and once again I really didn't want to go into work. My motivation has been shocking this week! I get so cosy once Hague is home and we snuggle up on the sofa that it's been one hell of a struggle to get myself up and out! First things first though, and dinner was rather delicious.

There are 3 Asda meat free burgers under the pile of cheese, roasted onions and gherkins. With dinner done with I finally got myself off the sofa rather late. I blame TOK as I was desperately trying to finish off a book she'd recommended!

When I got to work, it was to the sight of no lines running at all. My hopes were up that I might, just might get away early, and I got busy cleaning stuff. By get busy I mean I hosed a bit, finished up the book on my Kindle and generally looked busy as there wasn't much to do. Much coffee was the order of the night..

That was it for work food though as all my prayers were answered and I got away just after 1.30am. Fan-bloody-tastic! Especially as Hague was still up :o) As I got home at what would pretty much have been lunch time I had something to eat once I was in.

I'd taken the risotto into work, but rather than having it with some crispbreads as I'd planned, I had a nice salad with it instead and stirred in the blue cheese Laughing Cow triangles I'd earmarked for lunch. As I still had a HeB left I decided to splash out on a dessert, which shall be known as Bounty in a Bowl.

Some toasted cous cous, with some All Bran chocolate crunch and an Activia coconut yogurt stirred in. Very nice indeed, something I'll try again methinks. After eating I decided to have a nice soak in the bath whilst I watched this weeks episode of The Great British Bake Off. Biscuits and traybakes - they all looked rather delicious, not very SW friendly though eh? I finally drifted off at around 4.30. Still earlier than if I'd have had to stay at work! Yay!

Friday started a bit too early for my liking as Hague had to go to work. It was about 11ish and I was sort of pondering going back to sleep, but instead decided to get up and have a large coffee and was then treated to a visit from my lovely friend Helen, who gave me a rather large shock by turning up with an absolutely fabulous veggie box to celebrate Hague hitting target and me losing 10 stone! I really am a lucky lady to have such truly wonderful friends!

There are lots of things hiding under there too, nectarines and peppers and oranges. Such a thoughtful gift, thank you Helen xxxxxx

I went for something rather more eclectic for breakfast/brunch though...

Roasted butternut squash with cheesey scrambled eggs, mushrooms and Quorn sausages. It was surprisingly yummy! Not long after I'd finished my brunch, Hague arrived home, but I was feeling rather hugely tired and so I went to bed for a wee nap, feeling a bit guilty at leaving Hague downstairs....however, when he came to wake me up I was reliably informed that he had also had a nap! After a nice kip I got myself up and out to do yet another Couch to 5K run, this one was the first run of Week 8, 28 minutes of solid running this time! Just 5 runs left until the programme is finished, and I'm still enjoying it :o) Just typing that still shocks me :o)

Once I was in and showered we decided to head out to Asda for a mooch about. I'm in desperate need of clothes and so we thought we'd have a look, I managed to pick up two pairs of jeans, a skirt, bra and knicker set and a pair of ballet shoes for £35. Not bad going, and the clothes should keep me going for a wee bit longer, as some are 18's and some are 16's. Get me! Asda did in fact frustrate me hugely though as the changing rooms weren't open, despite the fact that they should have been available until 10pm....when I asked the three, yes THREE women standing behind the George desk next to the changing room why they had shut them early I was informed that it was nearly 10, this was at quarter to. How silly of me to presume that a changing room that was supposed to shut at 10pm would still be open at 9.45, when I asked why they had closed them early I was greeted by one of them looking at her watch and ignoring the question. Lovely. I feel an email coming on in the morning.....

Anyway, we got home, I had new clothes and Hague set to the task of making a rather lovely (if very similar to yesterday's) dinner.

Syn free burgers this time, the Quorn beef and red onion style ones, with cheese slices, gherkins, sweet potato and normal potato chips, salad and the rather random addition of some oyster mushrooms that were reduced to 20p a pack. The wholemeal rolls weigh 65g, so the two of them were both my HeB's plus an extra syn, so not bad at all.

Dessert (quite a bit later) was a bowl of strawberries with sweetened and vanilla-ed natural yogurt and a meringue nest.

Very yummy, it was washed down with another coffee as well. Good job we're not heading to bed too early tonight as MegaShark vs Giant Octopus is beckoning as our bedtime viewing!

Today really has been rather lovely. It was so nice to catch up with Helen, and it's been a real treat to spend lots of time with Hague too. Add in completing a 28 minute run, setting up a new Slimming World FB page for those of us who like our weight loss tips with a side order of purple unicorns, some new clothes and fitting into a sz16 skirt and I think you can appreciate why I'm sitting here, in my onesie feeling all warm and happy and snuggly inside. And that's even  before I get to see a MegaShark eating a plane!

Oh, if you want to join the randomness at the The Big Purple Slimming World Bus Stop, please do! Doug is our driver, and the unicorns are full of sparkles to keep you glued to the bus :o)
