Swims and Sharks and Sarah

What a madly busy day Wednesday turned out to be. Sort of. As I did manage to squeeze a nap in as well, but it was still very, very busy!

My body clock is continuing with it's ridiculous early starts and I woke up at half past bloody 5. I lay in bed for two hours hoping I'd drift off again, but no such luck and so I got out of bed and had myself some breakfast at the ungodly hour of 7.30.

As I was up so early,  I figured I might as well make the most of my Swimming Pass and it's added bonus of cheap AquaFit classes and so I got myself booked in for the 9am one and headed out for the pool. I only managed a few lengths before the class, but got in 20 afterwards to finish up my latest SpeedoFit challenge of swimming across the Yanghtzee River - yes I have an app for swimming too ;o) Next up, swimming the length of Loch Ness, will I find Nessie? Rather than head home I decided to take a wander into town as it was a truly gorgeous day.

I really am enjoying these lovely sunny days stretching right into the Autumn, although as it's still warm it's not ideal weather to go out running in! Yesterday just contained a nice walk though, and a teensy bit of shopping with some actual books purchased and some Body Shop goodies to dry and keep my over-chlorinated skin hydrated! I also picked up some ENORMOUS jacket spuds and so unsurprisingly lunch was spud shaped.

A tad cheesey too with 2 Laughing Cow extra light triangles, a tin of macaroni cheese a HeA of cheddar on top! I'd mixed in some cherry tomatoes and spring onions with the macaroni cheese whilst I microwaved it too, to add in some superfree and it definitely made a rather nice addition. Obviously after eating that monster I was rather full and rather sleepy and off to bed I went!

Hague woke me up in plenty of time for me to get all glammed up for our evening out, and to have a quick snack.

As part of his Christmas present last year I'd bought two tickets for us to see Sarah Millican live. For some reason she seems to always play in Great Yarmouth and we've been looking forward to it for 9 months! I decided to get myself dressed up and my pencil skirt outfit made it's outside debut. It may sound a teeny bit vain, but I felt really good, and was pointing out my rather hourglassy silhouette to Hague as we walked to the theatre. Several times....

Sarah was, as always, utterly hilarious, I feared for both my mascara and my bladder several times. There is something so wonderful about having a good old belly laugh to just put you in a fantastic mood and so even the fact that we had to (finally) go and get some shopping after the show didn't bring me down. We spent a small fortune in Asda as we had to literally stock up on everything in the whole universe and by the time we'd been there, and then put all the shopping away it was stupidly late. I still found time for a cuppa whilst dinner cooked though.

You have to have tea in a new mug immediately right? I also seeked approval of my choice of feet up and cuppa from the lady herself and got this in response...

I think they call that the icing on the cake?? Sad I know, but it really made my day :o) After such excitement, there was still room for more as we settled down with our dinners and made the decision to watch the epic film that is Sharknado....

Dinner was Quorn quarterpounder burgers with some salad and roasted peppers, and rather awesome. As you can see from this film still, I think the phrase "awesome" may even be lacking when it comes to describing Sharknado, which does exactly what it says on the tin. Sharks in a tornado. Excellent.

Phew! Wednesday really was a rather brilliant day - here's hoping today is in a similar vein. I like brilliant days, they are made of happy and unicorn manes.
