Missing Days and Miracles

The slackness in my recent blogs is brought to you by the substance vodka and the mood hungover.....I really do need to realise that losing this much weight seriously affects how much you can drink! Work can also take some of the blame as I had a 12 hour shift on Monday!

Right, let's get you very quickly up to date shall we? Saturday started off well, all on plan.

With the added bonus of a present made of actual awesome arriving from my rather marvellous boyfriend.

I've wanted to see this film for SO long, and now I can...however, our Saturday evening guests were not so enthused. It shall have to wait for another day.

Everyone arrived rather early, and so the drinking began rather early. Seeing as everyone brought tons and tons of noms with them, most of it not overly SW friendly, I thought I was quite restrained just having a few nibbles here and there.

Beige food - so bad, but so tasty ;) Here we have a couple of mini cheese stuffed jacket potatoes and a delicate slice of a vegetable stuffed ring....cue far too many jokes about tasty rings, munching on rings and just about every variation thereof...yes, I really am that childish *proud* I also managed to stop at just 4 Pringles, and another plate very similar to this as well as a SW friendly(ish) scotch egg. Such a small amount of food may also explain the utter drunkeness I managed to achieve without actually drinking too much. Oh well, live and learn. She says. With another weekend with friends looming....hopefully I'll be a tad more restrained!

Funnily enough, I woke up on Sunday feeling rather rough to say the least. Hague was at work, so I could lay in bed for quite a long time, not all day though as Monday was a 4.30am start. I dragged myself out of bed and forced some food down me.

For some reason, in the evening, despite still feeling rather icky I still went out for my C25K run. I wasn't expecting to complete it, and in fact had pondered doing the first run of the week again rather than going for run two, but reckless old me here opted for run two, and I only bloody did it! I ran for 8 minutes straight, twice! With a hangover, that run also got me this.

Just 7 more weeks to go!

Of course, my run was followed up by a bath and some snackage before hitting the hay.

More Benefit bars as the hangover shakes were still upon me!

I had a bad night's sleep, waking up at 2am and not getting back to sleep and so Monday wasn't the greatest of days. I still felt bloody awful, and with the lack of sleep I couldn't wait to get home. Foodwise, work looked like this....

Quite a few syns, but I felt hungry all day, I literally could have eaten all day long, and when I got home I really fancied stodge, filling, delicious stodge, and Hague, being all awesome, obliged.

Quorn fillets, broccoli and a mountain of cheesey mash. There are 6 Laughing Cow triangles AND 30g of cheddar in that mountain. It was GOOD and exactly what I fancied. Gorgeous. After that had gone down it was a very early night for me, snuggling up in bed before 8.

So that's us all caught up...if you're still with me, that's quite an overload of information there! I had a lovely sleep until 1am, but then woke up again, I did nod back off again though, so felt a bit more awake when I headed to work. Once again work food was pretty standard, with plenty of fruit and rice pudding for breakfast.

I also had my usual banana and Benefit bar for my first break but the picture has disappeared completely! As you can see, plenty toI was hit with a quandary at work. I'd been planning to do my next C25K run on Wednesday, but after seeing the weather reports at work I was getting a bit concerned, the temperature might hit 30 degrees here tomorrow, and that's not exactly friendly weather when you're hoping to run for 20 minutes straight for the first time since, well, ever...and so I needed to make room for it tonight. I decided to have a nap after work - such a hardship, but we all have to make sacrifices - as that would mean I could stay up a wee bit later and fit a run in after weighing in and dinner. So to bed I headed after work, and woke up when Hague got in, and we headed to weigh in, where a true miracle occurred. I LOST! Early shifts, vodka on Saturday but I got on those scales and got a loss of 2½lbs. I could not believe it! Over the moon doesn't quite cover it. To add to the fabulousness of that result it has dropped my BMI down to 34.9, which means I'm no longer morbidly obese! I'm just obese, which is still bad, but better than being supermorbidly obese :)

We couldn't stay, as I need to get runned, bathed and bedded, and so home we came to dinner.

Just a package of stir fry veggies, some Quorn steak strips cooked in soy sauce, wok FryLight and sweet chilli sauce. Not too heavy!

After dinner had gone down I kitted up and went out for my C25K run. Run 3 of Week 5. Twenty continuous minutes of running, well jogging. And you know what?

It felt AMAZING! I didn't beat any speed records, but that's not what it's about, I just kept going and going. I genuinely feel like I've achieved something that would have been utterly beyond me just a few months ago. Another rather wonderful miracle to wrap up my day!

Well, not quite wrap up, with a HeB left, and both my HeA's I had to have my after run snack before bath and bed!

Double cheese toastie, with grapes and  Muller Dessert. Perfect end to what has turned out to be a damn good day! Now I'd best get myself de-sweated and in bed, as that 4.30am alarm is looming large!

  1. hi karen where do you get those benefit bars from?

    1. They're from Aldi :) They are the 70cal ones and all three varieties are two for a HeB.

  2. What amazing achievments, congratulations you are doing amazingly well!!
I notice you also get Graze boxes, do you know how many syns are in the goan curry rice crackers?? I have just started getting the graze boxes & there are only a few things synned online.

    1. Thank you :)

I tend to use the syns calculator for the Graze boxes, but most work out using the 20 cals = 1 syn rule.

  3. Oh My God, you genius. Why have i never thought to put laughing cow in my mash. Thats tonights dinner sorted :) Well done on brilliant achievements.

    1. They're fab in there, make it cheesey AND creamy, what's not to love? :)
