Revisiting Reasons

Way back when, well October, I started listing some reasons I had for wanting to lose weight. I have been thinking about those recently, and thought I'd have a look and see how far I'd come, and whether I've actually achieved any of them...

Reason #1 was to be able to register on the Bone Marrow Register. You have to have a BMI under 40 to do so, and I'm now rocking a BMI of 36.1....I've not registered yet, as I need to wait until I donate blood again....but I can, so I think we can call that one DONE :)

Reason #2 was to be able to climb the stairs at work, as you all know, I now do that every day! DONE :)

Reason #3 was to have a pair of New Rock boots. Much as I'm losing weight, my legs are staying stubbornly large at the moment, plus I'm poor - so still a work in progress for this one.

Reason #4 this one was to be able to wear heeled shoes again, I can't wear all of them, but I CAN wear heels now, not huge ones, but hey, I'm getting there :)

Reasons 5,6,7 and 8 revolved around my family, seeing my Nieces grow up, giving myself a fighting chance of reaching the age of my lovely Nan who turned 96 last month and not being the fat sister anymore, and getting to target as my Mum is paying for me to attend group Obviously some of those reasons can't be ticked as done, but I'm perilously close to being the thin one in the family, which is rather a wonderful feeling :)

Reason #9 was to be able to use a normal bath towel rather than an extra large bath sheet, which still didn't fit around me. Slowly but surely I've realised that I don't have to only use "my" towels anymore, any of them will now wrap around me. Fantastic! DONE

As there were originally 18 reasons, I shall leave them there for today. I was pleasantly surprised at just how many I had now achieved when I looked back, all those non-scale victories that have helped keep me going over the last year! I'm rather proud of my progress!

Onto today then, once again I woke up before midday, a rarity really when Hague isn't here, got myself up and headfirst into a huge coffee whilst I had a think about breakfast. I had no idea what I wanted, I had a serious case of the CBA's and wanted something super quick.

So scrambled eggs and fairy pasta on cheesey toast it was. Five minute wonder :) After breakfast I got myself dressed and headed to Asda as I'd managed to forget the dishwasher tablets, and for any of you on Slimming World you'll know that dishwasher tablets are pretty much essential!

As the sun is still shining away on the East Coast, I went for something summery. An old dress that I was just slimming back into when I wore it at Christmas, and as you can see, it's now rather loose, thank goodness for lovely thick elasticated belts to cinch it all in again and stop it looking like a sack!

Asda is 1½ miles away, so all good Body Magic for me too, in fact that half an hour of solid walking there and back means I achieved my first week of Silver today. Very pleased.

Obviously after a lot of walking in the sunshine I was rather peckish when I got back home and so sorted myself out some lunch.

I had started off with the plan of a potato salad with the salad and sausages, but ended up roasting them with some rosemary, and as I'd only had 2 cheese slices on my breakfast, I added in another one to lunch so I could count it as a HeA. After such an active few hours the utter lazies set in and the only movement that occured was when I needed more coffee, and my fingers on various keyboards as I chatted away to Shane and TOK :) Obviously I still go hungry though, but I still had absolutely no motivation to cook anything exciting so I put some rice in the rice cooker and waited for inspiration to strike whilst it cooked. As I'd picked up this at Aldi....

So Asian I went with a mushroom fried rice. I just fried off mushrooms and spring onions added in some soy sauce and these herbs and then added in the rice, when everything was nearly cooked I broke an egg into it all and stirred it through until it was cooked, oh and I threw some spinach in there too. There was tons left over as well, so that'll do for another meal, or an accompaniment at least.

I kept dessert nice and simple.

Strawberries, peach, pineapple and mango. All fresh and all delicious! I then decided to head up for a long soak, and another face mask. No alien pictures this time though, sorry!

While I was in the bath, the worms started complaining though, and when I came back downstairs, it was into a full on snack hunt! With all my syns intact, and a HeA and HeB still to have, the kitchen was my oyster, and I came up with this concoction.

A double stacked burger, with two Quorn red onion burgers interspersed with cheese slices and ½ tbsp each of Kraft thousand island dressing and ketchup all piled into a Warburtons thin, with some crisps to munch on whilst I watch telly :) Plus of course dessert, which I shall munch on whilst watching crapola on the telly box before bed.

A very hungry day today - not really sure why, perhaps boredom has played a part? Who know, I'm once again within my syns though, so I won't worry too much about it. I can't believe it's Saturday night already though, another week off has just flown by and Monday is looming. With three 12 hour shifts to look forward to next week, I think I'd better spend tomorrow making sure I have plenty of noms ready!
