All Over The Place

The last few days have been a bit mad. My working hours have been here there and everywhere and so food has just sort of slotted in inbetween!

Wednesday started pretty normally, although I was really tired and so stayed in bed for far too long, dinner therefore, was a minimal effort attempt.

A cheesey spud with some salad, so two lots of healthy extras and a syn for a tablespoon of Kraft thousand island dressing. Perfect to fuel me for a night at work. The shift at work wasn't too bad, it improved massively with the news that we probably wouldn't be needed for Thursday!

My work food was pretty standard, including yet more of my fritatta and more blueberries with lemon yogurt...just SO good! The shift ended with the confirmation that we weren't needed on night shift, and to instead come in and work from 6pm to 10pm. Not too shabby! I celebrated such awesome news by heading out for my final Couch to 5K run of week 3 and then having some mango chunks with a coconut yogurt and a cuppa in the bath.

I then failed miserably to sleep, finally dropping off at around 9.30am. Not the best idea when I had to be up at 2.30!

I was shattered when I got out of bed, but encouraged myself with the thought of just 4 hours to get through at work and a nice dinner to get me started.

Got to love a diet plan that involves burgers and chips :) Purple chips at that! Under the cheese are two of the Asda meat free burgers. I just nommed on the third cheese slice :) So off to work I went, and as I got there early I managed to stock up on some diet Tango for Hague who has had a huge craving for it over the last few days and was thwarted by the lack of diet fizzies in our local shops! I had hoped that the 4 hours would be easy, maybe doing some cleaning or break cover, or even some computer work. However, I was put on a machine that has been a bugger all week, and continued in that vein for the entire four hours. I was totally at the end of my tether by the time I got my one and only break at 8.30.

I had absolutely had enough by 10pm and so couldn't wait to escape, thank goodness that marked the end of my working week, in fact the end of work until September, which sounds rather fabulous! Of course after that, I needed cheesey gnocchi!

This time mixed with light soft cheese and some stilton, plus mushrooms and spinach. Delish. I followed it up with a big bowl of strawberries as we've had them in the fridge since Monday and I haven't touched them. Not quite sure how the little moth I found in there managed to survive it.....Yes, a moth, in my strawberries. Me, being me, it didn't put me off though, I just helped him on his way and gave Boo the strawberry he'd been nestling on. Happy moth, happy Boo, happy me :)

We were then planning on an early night, but managed to spend over an hour yapping away in bed rather than sleeping..Ooops.

Finally, Friday! I told you it was all over the place this week, and rather than having me a bit of a lie in after not much sleep I was woken up at 7.45 with a kiss. Which is always most welcome, but being told to go back to sleep just doesn't work with me and so I stayed up. Which was a bit silly really, nonetheless, I ploughed my way through a couple of coffees, and an espisode of Fat: The Fight Of My Life as well as The Men That Made Us Thin whilst chatting to TOK. It was nearly midday before I got around to breakfast, unless of course the coffee counts. It did have milk in it which pretty much makes it food right?

Actual breakfast was some of the toasted cous cous with an Activia yogurt and strawberries, which kept me full for ages, good job really as I then headed into town. For some reason I figured I'd wear heeled wedges to walk nigh on 4 miles, I really am a nugget at times, so precariously I walked into town, via The Tolhouse to visit Hague, then off to the Post Office to pick up a parcel and home again. I had a quick pit stop at the library, where I spent a rather pleasant half an hour or so in the sunshine, watching butterflies whilst enjoying a coffee.

The biscuit stayed in the saucer :) The lack of sleep was telling by this point though, even after much, much caffeine, so another quick visit to Hague (he's literally about 10 steps away from where I took the picture) and off home I went for a sneaky nap. Which turned into four hours in bed....

Obviously on waking up I was rather hungry, and so when Hague said he was doing a curry, I merrily went along with it.

He had chips with his though, and less tomatoes. I also did something I'm starting to do a bit more often. I only dished up what I wanted and left the rest. I had done this with my pasta the other day too. Before, I would quite happily dish everything up and then feel close to stuffed, but not anymore, I have enough to satisfy my hunger, and I'm getting better at judging that now :) It's a good feeling!

The evening has been mostly spent watching The Shawshank Redemption whilst chatting away to friends, always a pleasant way to spend time, but with all my Healthy Extras left, there was only ever going to be one thing on the menu for my late night tea :)

An odd few days that's for sure! I'd had many, many amazing comments about my latest award and my skirt picture, every one of them gives me such a huge boost, I hope you all realise just how much I appreciate it when you take the time to post something, or even just like a picture. It means so much, and helps to keep me going :)

I've got another Couch to 5K run planned tomorrow, this will be the first run of week 4, and the prospect of running for 5 minutes at a time is rather scary - but I'm going to do my damndest to get through it, as that run will mean I've achieved my Silver Body Magic award. Something that will mean a huge amount to me, as I have really felt I've made a lifestyle change this time - exercise is definitely part of my life now, and I am already making plans on how to fit in Gold Body Magic levels of exercise into my daily routine. Such a huge step for me, as just a few months ago the only exercise I did was at work! Seems things like this that I used to scoff at are true. Who knew! ;)

    1. It's like large balls of cous cous, quite substantial. I get mine in Holland and Barrett.

    1. I just soak it in boiling water until it's softened, then drain it and stir in some yogurt..
