A Few Big Things....

The first Big Thing, is the big gap since I last blogged! This week has been mad at work, we are now in our busiest period, which means lots of twelve hour shifts, and as it's earlies this week, many hours and early starts are not the best combination for me, so I've done one of two things this week after work....on an 8 hour shift I've got in, eaten some lunch then taken Boo out to meet Hague from work and then gone out once more to do my Couch to 5K run before a bath and bed, on a twelve it's just been the eating and the bath! 

Much as I know you're here for the food, I'm sure you don't want 5 days worth to scroll through :) So I'll just update you on a few things, including some other Big Things which have cropped up this week. The first shows up just how important it is to write down what you're eating, or blog in my case...on two days this week I've managed to have an extra HeB choice. This is mostly down to my muesli blindness. I seem to just forget that muesli is a HeB if I don't have it every day! I know this is rather odd, but after rice pudding for breakfast on Monday and Tuesday it just slipped my mind that I had to use a HeB for breakfast....I mind works in mysterious ways O.o Luckily, on Wednesday that took me up to 15 syns, but on Thursday it bumped me one over, obviously I'm still under my syns for the week, but it goes to show that no matter how long you've been on plan, writing down your food is SO important if you really want to ensure you're 100%!

Onto two, much nicer Big Things. The first being a very big purple top...

This picture was taken just over 2 years ago, so I may even have been bigger than this by the time I got my butt to Slimming World, but it's fairly indicative of the size I was...and quite a doozy of a before picture don't you think? So, with all the wardrobe clearing I've done, you'd think I'd got rid of that top wouldn't you? Nah, not this little hoarder, I kept it. Mainly as it's purple, and also as I still thought it fitted and looked okay...

Hague has informed me that it looks like a "bloody tent" and must be thrown away - but it certainly gives a good contrast of how far I've come, so a Good Thing from a Big Thing :) (I've still not lobbed it yet though).

The final Big Thing is really pretty damn huge, I've completed week one of the Couch to 5K programme :) Even a few months ago that would have been impossible for me, but I've done it. To many people, running for a minute, followed by 90 seconds of brisk walking would be easy peasy, but for someone who not so long ago weighed over 25stone it was quite a personal challenge, one which I wasn't entirely sure I'd manage, but I have done, and I actually look forward to it now, and am excited about kicking off week two tomorrow!  That'll also complete my second week of my Silver Body Magic award, the award I didn't think I'd have enough time to do :)

Right, I think I've waffled on long enough now, shall I get talking about some food? Nothing too exciting to day though, more eclectic as we are desperately in need of supplies, hence my first break snackage looking like this today...

 Only not sideways (stupid bloody Blogger). No fruit left in the house and so a frantic search at 5am this morning yielded some cheese triangles to go along with my Alpen Lights as work snacks!

Breakfast proper was courtesy of Hague, as I'd been sent to bed very early last night as I was so shattered.

A frittata type thing, which ended up mostly veggies. Not a bad thing when it was the only hint of superfree in my work bag today! My final break was also fruit free.

We were in work all day today, and so I didn't get home until after 2pm and had already decided that a huge coffee and a bath were in order. I also found some more Lush treasure hiding in the bathroom. Lushies amongst you will appreciate these little beauties.

So I left the bath smelling, well, Lush but feeling rather peckish, and so got myself something to eat before heading out to face Asda and Aldi. On a Saturday. Again.

The simplest of simple meals, pasta, chopped tomatoes, herbs and 2 syns worth of olives. No cheese, as we didn't have any of that either, things had got that bad lol!

Aldi was awful, Asda was worse. Much as Great Yarmouth relies on tourism, I don't like them using my shops when I need to get my shopping ;) Anyway, we got home without getting too angry, and it wasn't long before I was pondering dinner.

I can appreciate that this also looks like a pre-shopping trip thrown together meal, but it's what I fancied. Hiding under the cheese slices are three of Asda's frozen meat free burgers as they didn't have the Quorn red onion ones (Boo!), they're a syn each, but I can live with that. So dinner was just 4 syns, not too bad at all.

Next week might be a bit patchy blog wise as well, as I have three 12 hour shifts to contend with - but I shall do my best to keep you as updated as possible! Plus of course there is the Woman of the Year night at group on Tuesday, and I have found another Big Thing to take old jeans, size 32!
