Woot! Weekend! Pizza Time!

Ah Friday, I quite like you. You're much nicer than Monday, and you give me a sense of hope that the weekend will arrive. You're not so great when you don't let me sleep in though, as that makes me tired :( Despite having a nice relaxing bath after my shift on Thursday night I was awake at 2pm. Not great when I didn't crawl into bed until around 8ish, and I've whinged on often enough about how long it takes me to fall sleep. I tried to get some more sleep, but it wasn't happening and so I was a wee bit grumpy when Hague got in from work.

I cheered up slightly though when, on a whim, I decided to try on one of the progress dresses I have. This one was given to me over my birthday weekend by my friend of more years than I'm willing to admit to, Angie. My birthday was way back in February, and this dress is a size 16, quite a small one according to Angie, and it's gone from not even going on, to going on but being too tight to pull down to getting on, but not zipping up - well on Friday, we hit the big one :) On and zipped up :)

I think the smile says it all! I just wish that my arms were shrinking more - and as you can quite plainly see, the start of loose saggy skin is rearing it's head. Oh well, I can live with being a sz12 in cardigans ;) With a high point reached quite early on, it was time to think about feeding myself and getting to work.

Standard lazy girl dinner there, and as we're in dire need of going shopping, just spinach and frozen broccoli in there along with a tub of LowLow. It wasn't long after that that I needed to get myself sorted for work. When I got there, it was to the end of week clean, and as I was training, I got to do most of the clean, which involves wearing goggles, rubber gloves and a fetching plastic coat. Yes, I was layered up in plastic in a bloody warm factory. I think the word "clammy" sums up my work night quite well. Breaks were rather long as well due to much cleaning, can't complain about that :)

Standard work fare there, although there are some nommy Quorn sausages and Stilton hiding in my cous cous salad. With work actually whizzing past quite quickly, and my trainer, Rob, seeming quite happy with how I was getting on, it's not bed a bad week really, but I was glad to be heading out at the end of the shift, and even ran up those stairs again! I'm lacking on Body Magic this week as I've been so tired and so parked quite far from the factory to get those minutes in! Great idea when you start work, not so great when you're done lol!

I headed home feeling rather peckish, and pondered a few options over what to have to eat. In the end, my solitary portion of Graze porridge won out, and whilst it put me up to my 15 syns for the day, it was exactly what I needed before I headed for my bath and Kindle wind down time.

Food Diary (Friday)

A - 2 x  60g LowLow (both HeA's)

Crispy Fries                            3½
Shape crumble yogurt              ½
Graze porridge                        8½
100ml almond breeze milk       ½

Total syns                               15

All syns used up today! Been a long time since I've done that, but that's what they're there for, and the porridge meant I didn't wake up starving hungry, in fact I stayed asleep until Hague stirred me at 2ish :) Mostly due to the fact that we really needed to go shopping now. I don't know why we do it to ourselves. Shopping on a Saturday is akin to hell on earth, especially at this time of year when shopping becomes a tourist attraction, at least that's how it seems when you see entire families including about a zillion children wandering aimlessly around....it didn't make for a happy Karen and Daniel, neither did the shopping total of £33 in Asda for two bags worth. Ridiculous, we spent £40 in Aldi and got tons and tons. Over budget once more, but we did need a stock up.

The weather didn't do much to improve my mood either, after sweating my proverbial nads off all week  at work I had been so looking forward to actually seeing some sunshine, but no, I was greeted by grey sky and drizzle. Didn't stop me donning my shorts to head out though. I WILL enjoy summer - even if it's grey!

So home, and with the shopping put away it was time to think about food, after some coffee of course as I was still tired.

We had actually bought some of the syn free Linda McCartney sausages as they were on offer (2 for £3), but I prefer the Quorn ones with breakfast and so I splashed out a couple of syns on those. The main activity of the day then started. Sitting :) I did intersperse it with a bit of Body Magic though, finally getting out my exercise ball thingum and using it to do sit ups, press ups, ab curls and tricep presses. All good strength exercises and ones that didn't involve me being on my feet, which are still hurting. Definitely a Doctor's visit on Monday for me. Obviously playing about exercising on a big, bouncy ball builds up the appetite as my mind soon turned to lunch, what to have after a huge fry up for breakfast? Pizza of course.

It may have come in at 8½ syns, but it was gorgeous! I softened off the onions with some garlic and balsamic vinegar and dolloped on top of a Warburtons square wrap which I'd spread with tomato puree and some mixed herbs, then I fried off some mushrooms and put them on top too along with some cherry tomatoes, spinach and my HeA of Feta cheese. I only put it in the oven for 10 minutes, just enough to brown of the cheese really. Then I drizzled it with a tbsp of Tesco lighter choices balsamic dressing. It tasted really good, and was a great alternative to a pizza, without a tweak in sight and at a fraction of the syns of a take-away pizza. I'll be having it again that's for sure.

Somehow, by the time we'd both had dinner it was the wrong side of 10pm. I'm really not sure where today has gone to be honest, it seems to have flown by, and it was only half an hour or so ago I felt peckish and figured that I'd best get my other Healthy Extras down me :) I know what you're expecting.....a HeA and a HeB to eat, she'll be having a cheese toastie.....

Wrong (today). Aldi had the little sweet peppers, and so we picked up those and I roasted them for 10 mins then shoved a Laughing Cow extra light into each one - so good, and so quick too. Along with those I had my Alpen Lights for my second HeB, including a double chocolate one I hadn't tried before and which was muchly nom (Alpen Lights are still £1 a box in Asda). Obviously, as it's shopping day we had strawberries too, a lovely light dinner to finish up the day!

Food Diary (Saturday)

A - 45g Feta
A - 6 Laughing Cow extra light triangles
B - 2 slices wholemeal bread (400g loaf)
B - 2 Alpen Lights

Syns
2 Quorn sausages                                                 2
Warburtons white square wrap                             8
Tbsp Tesco lighter choices balsamic dressing         ½

Total syns                                                            10½

10½ syns, not bad for a day with a fry up, pizza and cheesey poppers eh? There really is no reason to let the weekend sway you off plan if you are determined to lose weight. I don't feel like I'm deprived, I don't feel like I'm on a diet, I feel in control of what I'm eating, and enjoy what I choose to eat. So much of losing weight is about the mindset rather than the food, being positive about the choices you are making rather than feeling resentful at what you feel you can't have.

Be strong, make the choice to stay on plan and you will see the results - eventually - says she of the yoyo skills of a champ ;)
