OT and NSV's

What a whirlwind few hours these last couple of days have been. There was reason I didn't blog yesterday and that's because I was working last night, a cheeky bit of overtime never hurts, and as it was just before my week off I didn't mind too much and so I did my best to try and sleep, hindered by the Menagerie until I evicted them all from the bedroom at around midday and actually got some sleep!

I woke up rather hungry and as it was Sunday, decided on a roast dinner.

I attempted onion gravy to adorn my Quorn roast and it worked quite well, all I did was slowly fry some onions and then threw in a stock pot and a little bit of water - voila! Onion gravy, it was gorgeous! I had cheese on my veg too. Lovely. I had a dessert as well, got to keep your energy up when you're working all night.

There are 2 syns worth of mini meringues hiding in all that yogurt and fruit, making it a kind of Eton Mess, mostly made with frozen summer fruits, but with some added fresh strawberries. A quick shower, and a gathering of foodage for work and off I went.

I'm not overly fond of overtime, and it wasn't the best of shifts, but at least I knew it was only 8 hours, and not a week I had to get through. I was strangely hungry as well, and had to break into my emergency Mug Shot during dinner as well! So here's what I enjoyed whilst money grabbing.

For my main meal, as well as my Mug Shot, I had an Aldi wholemeal sub roll stuffed with a HeA of cheddar, the leftover Quorn roast and a tbsp of mayo, it made a lovely change. I was SO glad when 5.45am rolled around though and I could head to bed. This time without the animals!

It took me a little while to settle, but by the time my alarm went off just after midday I'd definitely got in a good 4-5 hours sleep, not bad at all really. I hadn't wanted to sleep all day, and a midday alarm call meant I had time to have a lovely soak and a bit of a pamper before heading off to pick up Hague from the station. I was feeling a bit retro today though, and decided to go a bit rockabilly....

I do like having fun with my clothes, methinks this shall only get worse the smaller I get! Anyway, with a compliment from Hague, and him picked up and immediately deposited at work the afternoon was mine! All I had to do was pick up presents for my girlywigs (my Nieces Jenna and Carys) and so I had a lovely wander around town, including a syn free visit to Starbucks.

An iced Americano with a pump of sugar free vanilla syrup, so syn free, and perfect for a pit stop on such a lovely sunny day. My moseying then took me into New Look, where I lusted after many beautiful dresses, and picked up a sz20 one to try on, I also took a sz16 top and dress in, more out of wishful thinking than anything else, to see how far away I was....however, the sz20 dress drowned me, and although the sz16 dress was a tad tight on the hips, it was fine on my top half and the top fitted perfectly, absolutely like a glove! I was so gobsmacked! However, my bottom half is not shrinking as fast as my top half and so I left the rather short top in the shop, but my good mood most definitely stayed with me! It was then time to head out to meet Hague once more, and I took the opportunity to put my feet up and enjoy the sunshine. It seems summer is finally here!

With Hague in tow, we stocked up Menagerie munchies and attempted to find caramel Douwe Egberts coffee for me to recreate my iced coffee at home. Munchies - successful, coffee - not so much :( We also picked up some reduced bargains which we had straight away, as as you may have noticed, I hadn't actually eaten! So Hague had half of his huge portion of smoked Haddock, and I followed up a lovely cheese and onion marmalade toastie with my reduced fruit.

Topped with yet another Activia yogurt, this time vanilla!

Then we got to the important work of tidying the kitchen and relaxing. Lovely. Although as we'd both waited so long to eat it wasn't long before thoughts turned to dinner and apart from Hague having WeightWatchers sausages and me having Quorn, dinner was pretty much the same. He even had superfree!

As he's had a busy day, what with travelling back from Barnsley, working and then being dragged around Tesco looking for coffee, his Hague-ness has decreed that an early night beckons, and I'm not arguing, so I've polished off this little lot....

...and I shall be having a lovely milky hot chocolate whilst I relax in yet another bath before heading to bed, need my energy for the Big Sort that shall be happening this week!

Today has been really lovely. From the minute I woke up I've been in a fantastic mood. I had a gorgeous pampery bath, and felt rather fab in my outfit today. My non-scale victory was unexpected and most welcome, and now Hague is home and as his hours are mostly on the weekend we have pretty much a whole week to spend together. Let's hope this good mood lasts - past me getting off the scales tomorrow at weigh in anyway....just ½lb stands between me and that next, elusive, frustratingly close sticky!
