Are you SURE you're not Monday?

As if by magic, mere moments after I finished yesteday's (and Sunday's and Saturday's.....) blog, here I am wittering away on another one! What is it about Bank Holidays and Easter especially that just throw you utterly out of whack, add in the clocks going forward and I really didn't know whether I was coming or going this morning.

I have no-one to blame but myself. I'd set the alarm ready for Hague, who had another training day today, and so needed to be on the 8.45am train. Last night, whilst chatting, I had told him I probably wouldn't be going back to bed, I'd have lots of time to do myself a decent breakfast, do something for work and even get on the Wii Fit, plus of course get my blog up to date.....however.....the alarm went off and he wanted a snooze, then he had a quick shower whilst I stayed in bed. As we hadn't managed to get the money out of the bank for his train fare beforehand, we then had a mad, and ulimately futile rush to two local shops to get cash out before giving it up as a bad job and just heading for the station! With job number one complete(ish) I glanced at the clock in the car - 7.47am- and thought to myself just how much time I now had, and planned to go back to bed, and still give myself time to do everything! I threw my rice pudding ingredients in the slow cooker, fed the animals and headed upstairs feeling quite productive. Then I looked at my bedside clock which said 9am....and I realised I hadn't changed the car clock *sigh* Normal people would probably have got up at this point, I however snuggled down into bed and decided that I'd have plenty of time if I had two hours sleep.

I'm sure you all know where this is going, two hours passed, and then I snoozed for nearly another hour. I went downstairs to a rice pudding that was mostly stuck to the slow cooker, although I managed to rescue a fair bit for breakfast.

With that eaten, I needed to sort something for work. I had about 40 mins, and had to get a shower in that time too, so I figured that if I threw all the ingredients for minestrone soup into a pan and left it on low that'd be just perfect and it'd be ready when I got out of the shower....

The soup had other ideas, and when I headed back downstairs to check on my soup it was mostly stuck to the bottom of the pan - so instead of soup, it had ended up more like stew, minus most of the pasta which was welded to the pan. With just enough time to put my lunch together I headed out of the door. I managed to forget my purse too, so couldn't pick up any squash either!! Gah!!

I got into work, and the machines had also decided to have an off day, with one thing after another going wrong. My first break couldn't come fast enough!

Just a little something to keep me going. Once again a lack of water in the work fridge meant I had to have a fizzy! It was then back to it, back to running between machines until they finally decided to calm down around halfway through the shift....funnily enough, around about dinner time - how's that for a smooth link ;)

As you can see, the soup really wasn't very soupy at all, but it was tasty, not surprisingly really after how much it reduced down O.o The shift dragged by slowly, and eventually the machines behaved themselves enough for me to get my blog up to date, and then chat away to TOK and Dan, getting the news of Dan's weigh in (another 2lbs off) and getting mine and TOK's willpower polished up ready for another week on the wagon as we're both struggling a wee bit, although staying on plan, it's sometimes by the skin of our teeth - but after a little boost from each other, we're not going anywhere just yet!

My last break snackage was rather familiar.

It's nice to be able to have two cereal bars - one bonus of not having a HeB at breakfast time! With that eaten I wasn't feeling massively hungry, and so when I left work, I had no idea what to have for dinner, or even if I fancied anything at all. That changed when I got home though and I decided on something reasonably light.

A couple of Quorn sticky fillets with some stir fried veggies. The fillets just went in the oven for 25 minutes, and the veg was microwaved and then mixed with some soy sauce and wok fry light. Really quick and easy and definitely nice and light. The light thing then sort of went out of the window a wee bit as I fancied something sweet and put away this little lot whilst blogging.....

So there we have today's adventures - I also managed to leave the slow cooker on (without the pot in it) and the back door open when I went to work. I think we can safely say that the lie in wasn't worth it today, I just didn't know my arse from my elbow! I'll be up bright and early tomorrow though, as I'm weighing in at the morning group this week. I need 1½lbs to get my next award, which is my 7 stone award. I really have no idea if I'll get it or not. I guess all I can do is wait and see how much damage that booze did eh? I'm supremely nervous, I really want that sticky!

  1. Your blog today really made me laugh. From the moment you woke up to the final comment. I suppose on top of all this, you also have your pets to see to. Did smile at banana comment at the summing up part. Since I am a "new kid on the block" blogger, it's often the summing up bit that can be an eye opener. Must get out of bed now as its my WI, like you, I am apprehensive, having had good steady weight losses. Everyone seems to have an undeserved disappointment on the scales. Hope you get your new sticky..xx

    1. :) I'm glad it made you laugh, it made me chuckle writing it but at the time it was mostly grrrrrr!!

If I didn't take pictures of everything I ate, I'd forget things, it's what I do instead of writing it down.

No new sticky today, but that baby is MINE next week :) xxx
