A Wobbly Weekend!

Sorry for the delay in my blog, I seem to have been a busy girl since Friday and just haven't had a chance to get you all caught up!

After going to bed rather late on Friday morning, I woke up early too and felt strangely awake! So we made the most of the spare time we had to get some shopping done, we even had a lovely big budget of £50 due to it being payday for both of us at long last! That was plenty for us to stock up and it made a pleasant change to be able to pick up everything we needed. We also stocked up on pet essentials such as food and cat litter! Once we were home it was time to get some dinner sorted before heading off to work.

Once again Hague had the same, but without the broccoli and I also had a whole tub of LowLow mixed in with my pasta, quorn and veggies. Lovely. With that eaten it was time to leave Hague to enjoy his night off whilst I had to work :(

It was a nightmare to start off, not so hot tonight, but the machines were playing up enormously, and it took a fair while before they had settled down enough to run properly. Never good, especially when all you want to do is for it to reach 6am so your weekend can start! Helped by my breaks, the time did pass though.

Lots and lots of superfree in there, and as you can see, that £50 budget meant we could splash out on the creamy Activia yogurts too :)

My last break passed by with just a drink, and I managed to slope out a wee bit early, meaning I was all snuggled up in bed by 20 past 6. Marvellous.

I had planned on getting up early again on Saturday, and set the alarm for midday, but as we didn't get ourselves to sleep until gone 7am, that was a bit optimitsic and so I settled down for a little bit more sleep - I didn't expect to open my eyes and discover it was 4pm! Eek! I was supposed to be meeting my work mates for a farewell drink for Daynesy (our retired colleague) at 7.30 in Norwich. As I needed to be on the train at ten to 7, had to walk to the station, and eat, my plans for a relaxing bath were out of the window in favour of a quick meal and a shower before heading out!

Sweet potato wedges, with mushrooms and eggs. I had toyed with the idea of putting something in the slow cooker for when I got in, but figured that my SW friendly tactic of only taking enough money with me for my train fare and the 6 single measures I was allowed would mean that I wouldn't be drunk when I got in......

I think we can safely say that tactic failed miserably. Mostly due to the generosity of the guys I work with, who kept buying me drinks, something I am pretty much unable to refuse. This meant that I drank a hell of a lot more Jack Daniels and Honey Jack Daniels than I'd intended, smashing through 15 syns with barely a second though and bestowing many drunken cuddles on my poor work mates. Oops.

I also got a lift home, which meant an extra hour and a half of drinking time. Oops (again). I finally arrived home just before 1am, starving hungry, and the syns barrier was trampled on for good measure with an overdose of bread and cheese!

I had started off quite sensibly, with a toasted cheese sandwich and some potato wedges, which was my HeA and HeB. Then I decided I needed a Quorn roast too ( I was going to have Quorn sausages, but figured a Quorn roast was syn free which was better....) I then dumped the Quorn roast on top of more cheese on toast and doused it with mayonnaise :(

When that didn't hit the spot, I made yet more cheese on toast, topped with the rest of the Quorn roast and a couple of fried eggs. I think we call this falling off the wagon rather spectacularly! However, if I had rang out for a pizza, it would have been worse, so whilst I did go way, way over on my syns, it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Unsurprisingly, I didn't feel too clever when I woke up at 6.30am to go and pick Hague up from work, and headed straight back to bed when we got home, with lots of water! We finally stirred just after 2pm and I started off with a couple of large cups of tea before sorting out something to eat.

I decided to try and minimise the damage of the night before with a lovely superfree breakfast, although the orange was highly disappointing, and so I only had a couple of segments. Whilst I pottered about on my (mended) laptop and played Candy Crush the day meandered by, and soon we were hungry again. Hague had no idea what he fancied to eat, and so we had a good look through the cupboards and freezer before we got sorted eventually. Hague had hot dogs with Quorn sausages and bread, with some fried onions and wedges, and I went for sausage, chips and beans :)

Another sideways meal there courtesy of Blogger. Grrrr. As you can see I added in some spinach for superfree and then topped it with half a tub of LowLow. I think I am actually addicted to it! Thank goodness it's just £1 in Asda at the mo! We then decided to bath the stinkiest of all the puppies....

She hates having a bath, and will wiggle and squirm to try and escape when Hague lifts her into the bath and then barely moves when she's in the water. She reeks though, so it was definitely needed! With that job out of the way it was back to relaxing and doing not a lot. I've barely even texted today, which is shocking for me, and shows just how much I needed to chill out for once.

We were feeling peckish again rather late, and so a light tea was in order, once again with us having the same, and me feeling brave, I tried some beetroot! Verdict - not bad at all, and very nice with the cottage cheese and tomato.

I finished off with my HeB, a banana and a cuppa.

As you can see, I've gone low syn today to try and limit some of the damage caused by Saturday night. I'm slightly annoyed with myself for not getting something in the slow cooker, but there's not point crying over spilt milk, or indeed mountains of bread and cheese and today I was fully back on plan anyway. I guess the only thing I have to worry about now are the drunken photographs of Saturday night appearing on Facebook!

I'm heading up for a lovely soak now, before having a nice long kip before another week of nights commences tomorrow. Just 5 more shifts until I'm off for an entire, relaxing, glorious week! Can't wait!

  1. As far as damage limitation goes I think you did spectacularly well. Round here we have a lot of pizza places that do a 20" pizza for a tenner and deliver til 3am. A total recipe for disaster. I hardly drink these days but when I do, I have all the resistance of a wet lettuce. So well done for avoiding the dreaded takeaway! x
