Short Blog, Long Shift

A quick blog today, as Tuesday was mostly spent at work! For some reason I wasn't hugely hungry, which is strange for me, as normally on a 12 hour shift I can't stop eating, so not many meals today.

I woke up to a barrage of comments on my blog, so thank you everyone, but all too soon it was time for me to eat and get myself gone to work. I really didn't know what I fancied, but Hague came to the rescue.


For once, no superfree, but sometimes you just want something nice and basic :) I then headed out to work, where as well as a 12 hour shift I had an investigation into my absence - something that's never nice to have to deal with - and now I just have to wait to find out the outcome. :( Not good, but once that was over, it was back to the normality of work on the factory floor.

Breakfast had obviously done the job of filling me up as I didn't want anything else to eat until my first meal break!


Pasta leftovers with 3 laughing cow extra light cheese triangles stirred in, something I've not done before, but something I'll definitely do again, as it added a lot of cheesiness for just half of my HeA. Work was long, very long, and I really started to struggle, feeling very tired quite early on in the shift. Not hungry though, as yet another break passed with me just having a drink rather than a snack, very odd behaviour for me, especially on a night shift.

My final meal break was at 2am, and it was a lot lighter than my first meal break.


I had planned on having Ryvita, but we had none, but we did have some of the wholegrain crackerbreads, but only 3, so half an HeB rather than a whole one....got to love mix and matching when the cupboards are getting bare eh?

That fortified me for the rest of the shift, which really seemed to drag, despite Hague holding out until gone 4am to keep me company! It's at times like that, when I realise that I am so lucky. I have a man who loves me, friends who offer me immeasurable support, both "real" and online. I have a job, my health, and the cutest Menagerie in the world. A couple of ladies on Twitter were talking about gratitude, and I think that sometimes it's a very positive thing to try and find something to be happy about every single day, and it's something I might start trying....so there you have today's. I'm grateful to have a man who has a stupid body clock like me who can keep me company on night shifts :)

Sorry for the rather sparse and short blog, but 12 hour shifts are not conducive to much excitement! I will share the rather fabulous achievement of Team Hague though, as he attended our normal weigh in. Last night he received his 2½ stone award, Slimmer of the Week AND Slimmer of the Month. I am so very, very proud of him, even if his is absolutely storming away with the Mitchy vs Hague challenge :)
