Not Enough Hours In The Day!

Sometimes there really aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done! I had planned to blog about Tuesday a lot earlier than now, but a day with not enough sleep, then an hour or so supporting a friend on a hard day, as well as the loss of a TiggerPig - the last of The Little Dudes - has meant that it's only now, at work, that I have a spare minute to myself to try and get you all up to date with yesterday's food!

First though, here's my little TiggerPig, now gone to be with Mousey and JCB :( RIP little one :(

Back to Slimming World then, and as I had to work a 12 hour shift I was up at 3pm, still very bleary eyed and not massively hungry, but obviously I need to eat before work, and so the rest of my rice pudding came to the rescue, and made a rather lovely breakfast with some muesli and chopped banana stirred through.

I had a handful of grapes too, just to get a bit more superfree down me! Whilst I was eating this, Hague was heading straight from work to weigh in - and so just as I got to work I got the news that he'd lost a fabulous 3½lbs this week, taking him to his 1½ stone award. I am so, so proud of him, although I think the Mitchy vs Hague competition is rather a foregone conclusion now as he now has a loss of 21lbs compared to my 9.5lbs!

When I work a 12 hour shift, I like to make sure I have tons of food with me. You never know if you're going to have a hungry day after all and our vending machine leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to healthy options. I was already a bit peckish on my first break, and so out came the pineapple that I had brought yesterday but not eaten. Today I discovered that pineapple is best eaten wasn't awful, but it certainly wasn't the best I've ever tasted. Lesson learnt.

My next break was my first meal break, and courtesy of the dream team of Hague and the slow cooker, I had chilli! Delicious it was too, along with a crumble yogurt and a clementine.

Now, I don't eat on every break, and another blogger, The Weight Loss Bitch, has set a challenge for people to drink at least 1.5l of water every day. I always drink a lot more than that, but I realised that I don't really share what I drink with you, so from now on I will try to remember to add what I'm drinking too! So in that spirit, I had two breaks where I just had this.....

If one day, I actually remember to take photos of everything I drink, I'll put a collage together to follow my food diary...however, remembering is a big "if" :) With myself wonderfully hydrated it was back for more work, and the arrival of my second meal break. I don't like eating anything too heavy on a night shift, it makes me really sleepy, something that is even worse on a 12 hour shift, and so it was a lighter meal this time.

4 original Ryvita, with 4 Laughing Cow blue cheese light triangles, another clementine, cherry tomatoes and a bag of Crunchy Curls, plus yet more water :) Perfect for a 2am meal! With one last break to go, it was back to an old tea and a banana.

After that? A very weary drive home and the blissful feeling of crawling into a warm bed and snuggling up to an even warmer boyfriend. Wonderful!

I'm sure you'll understand why my blog has once again been delayed! To all the new people who have recently found me on Facebook and Twitter, I'm not always like this, honest.....well, I am a bit like this quite often, but it's not my fault, it's my shifts :) Hopefully I'll have plenty of time to update you tomorrow night as once I get up (with no alarm!) it's a whole lotta nowt 'til work! WooHoo!


  1. I love pineapple, although it's not often that I can be bothered chopping it all up! I also love chilli!

    1. We have one of those pineapple corer things, makes it much easier - although I also have a Hague who chops it for me :) Chilli is brilliant, just lob it all in the slow cooker and wait, perfect!
