Long Day, Short Blog!

Some days there just aren't enough hours in the day to get a blog done, and when I'm working a 12 hour shift is definitely one of them. My feelings on early shifts have been made very clear before now, and when I get home, the routine, more often than not is eat, bath, bed. Yesterday was no different I'm afraid, so let's get you all caught up with how Thursday went!

I'm sure you all remember how cold it was yesterday (seeing as how today is shaping up to be the same), so I won't linger on the uneventful journey to work, and seeing as everything was running really well yesterday I'll just get straight on with my daily noms!

My first couple of breaks were very much GroundHog Day, with fruit and tea followed by muesli for my breakfast.

A nice example there of why I need Slimming World in the shape of a clotted cream ice cream box lol! On a 12 hour shift we have two meal breaks, and so it was a rummage in the freezer to find some lunch - and today's was in the shape of a couscous quiche, which had frozen quite well, the only issue was that the bottom was a bit soggy, but it was quite a thick base, a thinner one would probably have been fine.

Another break beckoned, and another snack was needed to keep me going until the clock hit 5.45. Thank goodness we still have some food in the house!

To be fair, the shift might have been long, but with the help of a poorly TOK, the day didn't drag too much, but it was still nice to escape and head home - after filling up the car, picking up Hagues tickets for Barnsley and getting him some money out of the bank!

I finally got home just before 6.30, so 13½ hours out of the house, and the wonderful Hague had dinner waiting for me, despite working himself.

A perfect dinner for such a long, cold day :) The beans did have some mushrooms, spinach and herbs in to add some superfree and to jazz them up a bit too, plus there are a couple of cheeky Laughing Cow extra light triangles in the mash. It was just what I wanted though, and it wasn't long after I'd finished dinner that it was time to crawl into bed :( Stupid 12's :(
