Non Scale Victories

No blog yesterday, as I was working nights (only the one) and quite honestly, I got in after work and just wanted sleep. It had been a massively busy shift, just non-stop, and it was a relief to be done. I also had a hideous bout of heartburn on Sunday night, which ended up with me not sleeping until nearly 8am and losing my dinner. Lovely. 

So...Monday :) I woke up and Hague was cooking himself a stir-fry, that piqued my taste buds and he rather kindly made one for me too.

It consisted of a stir-fry pack of veggies from Asda (as they were on offer and it's handy to have them in), a packet of low fat supernoodles and a couple of eggs :) Nice and quick, and of course very easy - especially as Hague had cooked it for me. I followed it up with some sweetness in the shape of two yogurts and some Mikado's.

With that eaten it was time for me to head to work - not fun at the best of times, but when several inches of snow are falling, you can barely see the road and visibility is shocking - it was rather scary. I did get there safely though, albeit slighty late. Not helped by the fact that the lift wasn't working. Now - this always worries me. To get to the production floor at work (which is on the 4th floor) you have to climb 8 flights of stairs. I'm sure you can understand why it fills me in dread when I see that Out Of Service message on the lift! Normally I need a break (or two) on the way up, and am seriously out of puff at the top. Last night however, I got up those stairs in one go, and even had a conversation with someone as we walked up. Yes, I was out of breath, but not in the "OMG I need oxygen" way of previous months....a HUGE thing for me, and definitely a non scale victory for me :)

Due to being so madly busy at work, I didn't get my first break until nearly 3 hours into my shift and was more than grateful for my snacks.

Classic work snack :) Got to keep yourself going on nights! Lunch was courtesy of batch baking - the risotto from last week, with 4 blue cheese LC's stirred in. I hadn't realised there was quite so much when I picked it up for work though, and I was beyond stuffed after I'd put this little lot away.

The Fruit Shoots are 1/2 a syn each by  the way :) After eating so much I could have quite happily have curled up and slept - but work was not yet over, and I even managed to fit in another break, and more food ;)

As you can see, plenty of water today too! With a brief stop at Tesco to pick up some more Mikado (we are in fact officially addicted), it was time, at long, long last for bed!

So with sleep done (not enough though) I just about had time for a quick bath and a cuppa before heading to weigh in. I wasn't surprised with the result to be honest, not the best start for Team Mitchy this week with a 2lb gain. I'm pretty sure that it's just a re-adjustment after my frankly, undeserved loss last week, so I'm doing my best to get rid of that next week by giving Success Express a go. For those that don't know, Success Express is like the opposite of EE. You have 2/3 superfree and 1/3 free - so my meals next week might be a bit different to usual :) Hague stormed ahead in the challenge with a fantastic loss of 5lbs, so I'm already half a stone behind. Oops!

When we got in, we were rather hungry, so Hague did himself SW friendly fish and chips, whilst I had a mosey about for a SE meal and came up with this....

I make that plate at least 2/3 superfree if not more :) A butternut squash stuffed with onions, broccoli, courgette and spinach and topped with stilton, served up with 2 syn coleslaw and 2 BBQ sticky fillets. It was beyond delicious, the stilton and the butternut squash really did taste gorgeous, although no pain, no gain, as I did nearly slice my finger off in the process of chopping the squash :( Over the last week I seem to be giving the impression that SW is a rather hazardous way to eat, but it's not really. Honest ;) When the squash was eventually cut in two (by Hague) I sprayed it with a bit of fry light and put some of my garlic and chilli grinder on the top, I put that, and the Quorn fillets in the oven for about 25 minutes. I then put the onions, garlic and broccoli in a little bit of stock and boiled them off to soften them up. I poured off the excess stock then threw in the courgettes and spinach and just let them cook. The coleslaw is the same as the other day, 2 tbsp of extra light mayo, about the same of yogurt, some lemon juice and black pepper and coleslaw mix. Lovely :)

After that little lot, it took a while for me to fancy something sweet, but as always I did :) In the spirit of Success Express I went for superfree in the shape of plenty of pineapple.

I know I've only really had one meal today, but after the long night shift, and not enough sleep last night, my body is crying out for bed, so it's time for a hot chocolate (got to have my HeA) and some Mikado's (purely for research - got to try out the new flavours) before heading up to bed!

Whilst I'm liking the white chocolate and hazelnut Mikado, I think Daim is still the favourite for me!

So a disappointing weigh in for me, but understandable. I'm determined to do my best to get rid of at least that 2lb next week though and have pledged 4lbs, along with quite a lot of my group, so we should have some stunning losses next week :) I hope you all have better results than me this week - so I shall leave you with this weeks winner jersey....
