Done And Dusted

So it's over - the Christmas lunacy is all over, sorry for not blogging for the last few days, but I spent New Years Eve and Day basically eating and drinking everything that wasn't nailed down....not the best way to diet really! I did have a lovely time though, NYE was spent with friends, and it was a fabulous night, with much booze, and much clearing of the remainder of the Christmas goodies :)

But now it's back to work time, and last night was the back to reality of returning to work, and to Slimming World. As I was working nights, I spent most of the day trying to get some sleep before getting up in time to make it to weigh in. After 2 days utterly off plan since my last weigh in I wasn't expecting good news, but when I got on those scales I could not believe what they said. I had lost 5.5lbs! I may have been on plan for 5 days, but still that's a phenomenal loss. It also meant that I have now dropped down under 20 stone, which is quite a big moment for me :) I just hope it's a genuine loss and that I don't have a catch up gain next week! For now though, I shall enjoy starting 2013 5 stone 4lbs lighter than I was 6 months ago. As it's a new year, and a new start I wanted a photo so I can compare my progress with this time next year, so here's me, and my amazing consultant Claire :)

I'm still big, but I'm a lot slimmer than I was just a few months ago, and it's nice to actually feel good about myself, and get into clothes that a few months ago were way too small :) It was a nice way to start my day!

Back from group, it was time for dinner, and Hague had made me a glorious bowl of pasta absolutely stuffed to the gills with vegetables. Just what I wanted after all the Christmas excess!

Lots of red cabbage, mushrooms, courgettes, spinach and tomatoes, and the obligatory half a tub of LowLow. Delish, and perfect to fill me up before heading to work, which, I'll be honest I was NOT in the mood for, but needs must and so off I went, grumbling all the way!

As shopping isn't due until tomorrow, my meals at work were definitely of the picky variety!

I think the Crunchy Curls will be something I'll add to the shopping list from now on. 3.5 syns and they are perfect to satisfy that savoury craving! Plus lots of fruit - oh it's good to eat proper food again! With work done and dusted, I couldn't wait to get home, but I was feeling rather peckish. I decided that rather than head to bed, and then have a disturbed sleep due to feeling hungry I'd quickly do myself something to eat before bed, and so whipped myself up some scrambled eggs.

Maybe not gourmet, but it meant that I had a decent sleep :)

All in all a very good day. I'm now looking forward to getting a lot closer to target this year, in fact with 7 stone 12.5lbs to go, it is actually do-able to reach target this year, but realistically I feel that it might be more of a 2014 target, but I shall enjoy another step on my journey, whereever it may take me :)

  1. very well done on your christmas weight loss you must be really pleased

    1. Thank you, I was totally gobsmacked! Shows it was worth sticking to plan on those inbetween days x

  2. You've inspired me to have a go at shifting my bit of extra this year. Slimming World isn't going to work due to the time I get home, but Im trying a phone app that tracks progress and am currently logging everthing eaten religiously

    1. Your message has made me SO happy, if I can inspire even one person to give SW a go and it works for them, then I'm a happy bunny!
I used My Fitness Pal for a while, that was pretty good. I work shifts though, and SW still works for me ;)

  3. Well done you! What a lovely picture :D
