Stupidly Happy!

First off, an apology. I didn't blog this morning as quite frankly, I was knackered and feeling quite snotty. As it was my work Xmas meal tonight I wanted to get as much sleep as possible to be able to enjoy it, and hopefully to shift the coldy feeling. Unfortuately, I failed at feeling any better, so chose to have a lazy day just having a relax instead. Let's get yesterday out of the way first though!

Lazygirl-itis struck yesterday, and I had pretty much zero motivation to do anything exciting and so good old pasta came to the rescue :)

I roasted off some tomatoes and courgettes and stirred those in along with my HeA of 6 LC extra light triangles, I did mean to stir some spinach in, but I only remembered when I was half way through eating it! Lazy and the memory of a goldfish....what a catch I am lol!

With dinner eaten, and a shower had, it was time to head for work for the last shift of the week. I know it's been my choice to be in, but it's been hard going! I thought I'd try something a bit different for lunch too, but first things first....and first was break time :)

Mmmm more pineapple, definitely my favourite fruit, and I could quite easily eat one of these every day, not sure my purse would be too happy about that though! Especially seeing as I buy the ready peeled ones that are 2 for £3 - extravagant I know, but they're fiddly little buggers, I need me one of those pineapple peelers!

I was quite looking forward to lunch, it's always nice to mix things up a bit, and so today I'd decided on a different Ryvita topping.

Cold LM rosemary and red onion sausages, and some more coleslaw made with yesterday's bargain-a-licious coleslaw mix :) It was really nice, certainly filling too, which is always good to help get you through the night!

My final break was simple, once again having an Alpen Light bar and a cuppa - it's the Redbush and Honey one I picked up from Asda, it really does taste lovely and comforting, perfect for 4am!

I was utterly relieved to end my shift though, tired, snotty and just very weary after a long night, hence no blog, I didn't even stop to have my Advent choccie.

And so onto today, which started at midday when my alarm went off in anticipation of getting ready for my Xmas meal, however, I felt rather coldy and sniffly and tired, and so I decided to skip going out and have a relaxing day indoors instead. Once Hague was dropped at the station, I settled myself on the sofa whilst my lunch/brunch type food was in the oven. I treated myself to a feast of cookery programmes, all of which were Christmassy, I know it seems odd when you're dieting, but I do love a cookery show :) So that's what I watched whilst I ate lunch/brunch type thing.

With that eaten, and several cookery shows digested, and Boo's attempt at being a lapdog over with.....

Yes, that is in fact an enormous Basset Hound attempting to be a lapdog....
...I decided to have a nap, after which I had a lovely, long soak in the bath. The bath finally made me feel almost human, too late for my Xmas meal as it was 9pm, but in time for me to go and pick up Hague from the station. As he wanted some crap for dinner, I popped into Asda, and bought myself a couple of bits for my dinner too :)

I already had the Quorn roast and spuds, but bought the asparagus and dessert :)

The dinner was simple, but exactly what I fancied, with a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise and some lemon on the asparagus, as always, minimal effort too! I love the Asda yogurt too, and I saw today that they had a new flavour, Mango and Pineapple, I might have to try that too if it's syn free :)

With Hague and me at home at the same time, we just had quiet evening, chatting to our lovely Americay friend Bella (who's not from Americay at all, but from Canada. although apparently without the bobbly head), and watching the TV. Of course, such strenuous activities make you hungry, and so a late night snack was in order.

The rest of the Quorn roast with a tbsp of brown sauce buttified and the last of the gherkins, perfect to use up my HeB and ensure I go to bed satisfied rather than peckish. Plus of course I had a cuppa and today's (and yesterday's) Advent choccies!

No prizes for guessing what they are today ;)

So there we are, the end of Thursday, and I bet you're scratching your head as to why this blog is called "Stupidly Happy!". Well, in between picking up Hague and eating dinner, we popped upstairs to get changed - in a house with 2 cats and a dog, you have to have indoor scruffy clothes to get covered in animal hair, whilst the good ones stay upstairs, hence getting changed every time we cross the threshold....anyway, I digress...

Since weigh in on Tuesday, I'd had an idea in my head. It's party night at group next week, and Claire wants us in our party dresses. I have many, beautiful Vivien of Holloway dresses, all now too small for me. The little idea in my head was to try on one of those dresses. They had become something of an elusive target for me, something I wanted to get  back into, but saw as a little way off yet. However, I wanted to know just how far away I was from that stepping stone target, so I slipped into the dress and asked Hague to zip me up so I could see how far I had to go.

I have no further to go, it fitted, the zip slid up perfectly and so now I can go to group with a huge smile on my face, and wearing a gorgeous party dress. How's that for stupidly happy? I'll have to get someone to take pictures on Tuesday now won't I?

Stupidly Happy Girlie signing off :)
