Mixing It Up

After Tuesday's gain, I decided that I'd start mixing it up a bit. One of the reasons for this blog was to stop myself falling into a rut of eating the same things so I wouldn't get bored, and as I looked over last week's blogs I realised that my HE's are normally quite similar, and I seem to eat a lot of pasta and potatoes. Now, I love my carbs, so I won't be giving them up, but I'm going to get some different types of food down me. This week, that aim has been mostly aimed at my Healthy Extras and I had a good long look at the Green day HeB's so I could try some different things.

All that has to wait until the shopping is collected later on today though, but I've been doing my best today as well. Although as I woke up late and very tired, I'm afraid my dinner was the very familiar jacket potato!

I just wanted something with no effort as to be honest, I barely had the motivation to get out of bed, let alone actually prepare something! Chucking a spud in the oven is just wonderfully easy, and it is one of my favourites! It was stuffed with 3 LC extra light triangles, then beans, then 45g of reduced fat cheddar. With that eaten, I literally only had time to shower and head to work! I did manage to have a wee bit of time with Hague earlier though when I took him to the station, maybe 20 minutes or so, which was lovely after barely seeing him yesterday, yes I know I'm sad, but I kind of love him quite a lot :)

Anyway, work beckoned, only 8 hours tonight though, so that wasn't too bad, no change for first break though, a good old apple, although today I had a Tango with it. Choices were limited I'm afraid, and I do enjoy Tango, and it is one of the lower synned fizzies as well, just 2.5 syns for the small fridge pack can.

For my dinner, I had the other half of Tuesday's lasagne, it tasted just as nice re-heated, and I also had a very different HeB afterwards (along with a yogurt).

After perusing Healthy Extras, and scouting through the cupboards in the kitchen, I found some apricots, and lo and behold, 75g are a HeB choice on Green. That'll be why they were there lol! It was actually very nice to have a change and I'll be having them again.

Once again, I wasn't hungry for my last break, so just had another 500ml bottle of water, with the 2 pints of squash I had at home, and the 1l of water I've drunk here, as well as my Tango and some water in the car, that's my 2 litres of fluid taken care of, and that's not counting the little bits of water I always have throughout the day. I'm doing my best to limit any damage that Saturday might cause :)

Anyway, with work done, I'm now having a little treat as I wind down and write my blog before heading to bed.

Hot chocolate and an Alpen Light, as I was feeling a bit peckish, and I don't want to not be able to sleep as I'm hungry!

The Longest Night

When I woke up this afternoon, I could have happily slept for several hours more. A quick look at my sleep and it's no surprise really that I was still tired!

I do love an app, and this sleeptime one is quite cool, it tells you how deep your sleep is, and when you set an alarm it wakes you up when you're in a lighter phase of sleep (apparently) so you're not groggy. I'm not sure how well that works, but it does seem to record my sleep patterns quite well.

Anyway, enough wittering about apps, sometimes I do forget that you're here for the food, sorry :) When I got up at 3pm, I wasn't feeling particularly hungry, but when you have a 12 hour shift ahead of you, you have to eat and so I made myself some magic soup.

For those that don't know, magic soup is a very quick and easy store cupboard soup that tastes quite similar to Heinz cream of tomato. There are two recipes that I've seen, but this is the one I prefer.

Magic Soup

Tin of baked beans
2 Tins of tomatoes
A pickled onion ( I used two small ones)
1/2 pint of vegetable stock

Just simmer them all together for a while and then blend. That's all there is to it :) It does make a ton, I had two bowls and I've still got a pretty hefty portion for later on this week at work, it's a soup you can make for less than a quid, and it's so filling, what's not to like?

Whilst the soup was simmering, I had my efficient hat on and got all my food ready for work. On a 12 hour shift I get two meal breaks, and 3 shorter breaks, and so as you can imagine, I had quite a lot to sort out! One of the worst thing about a 12 hour night shift is that I have to leave 15 minutes earlier than I would normally, so I'm out of the house for a stupid amount of time, close to 14 hours *sigh* Still, the bills don't pay themselves eh?

Anyway, first break came around and I wasn't hugely hungry so just had a bottle of water and an apple (which I forgot to take a picture of), so when my first meal break arrived at 9pm I was pretty hungry. Luckily today's meal was a large portion of veggie chilli, into which I mixed 2 Laughing Cow extra light triangles, followed by a yogurt and some pineapple.

Stuffed.com was the result, exactly what I needed! Unsurprisingly I wasn't hungry again until my next meal break, and this wasn't quite so heavy.

Ryvitas, LC triangles, tomatoes, a yogurt and some French Fries. Definitely what I needed at that time in the morning, something a bit lighter so I don't want to fall asleep afterwards!

I still wasn't hungry at my final break, and so just had some more water whilst clock watching until my 12 hours were done! When I finally got home, I was totally shattered, so no hot chocolate today, just bed!

Onwards....

There's nothing like a shift at work to put things in perspective and help you get over self pity. I'm still properly narked off at gaining this week as I was hoping to stay on track for my Christmas target, but with a birthday between now and then I think 7lbs might be just a step too far. Anyway - enough grumping, that little + 1/2 is in my book and what's done is done.

When I got back from group, I was totally p*ssed off, I won't lie and I could have just eaten crap for dinner as I had zero motivation, however, that would have achieved absoluely nothing, and so I made myself a lasagne instead. I put tons of veg in it, and served it up with a salad as step 1 for next week is to eat tons of superfree veggies, and there is no time like the present to start.

The lasagne was utterly delicious, but it left me with a quandary. I was planning to eat the whole thing, but it was huge, and so I had just 1/2 a HeA on top. I've decided to split the Healthy Extra today rather than syn it, after checking on the SW website that it would be okay.

Whilst the lasgne was cooking, I made myself be productive and got my munchies ready for work. Instead of leftovers I had something which meant a different HeB for the day (step 2 of the plan of action). I got everything ready and so I could eat dinner, and relax for a little while before heading in.

For first break I indulged in a packet of French Fries, washed down with lots of water. Not really a step 3 as I drink lots of water anyway, but it can't hurt to make sure I have more than my 2 litres a day. Work wasn't too bad tonight though, machines were running well, and Hague was on the email, all things which help to pass the time!

My meal break involved a rather yummy, and varied meal, with Ryvitas, laughing cows, tomatoes and tons of fruit, I guess the sugar in the fruit will keep me going til morning!

I wasn't massively hungry when my final break came around, but I was really tired, so I had my Alpen Light bar in the hope that it would give me that little boost to get me to the end of the shift!

Home at last and I had the hot chocolate that will hopefully drift me off to sleep nice and quickly! I have to be up by 3pm tomorrow, as it's a 12 hour shift, hideous! At least I only have one this week!

A Quick Cry For Help!

An extra wee blog for you, but this time it's your help I want! At weigh in today I had a gain, only a small one of 1/2lb but obviously that's now made my Christmas target look that little bit further away. So....friends and readers, old and new, if you have the time, could you look over my last week of blogs and see if you can spot anything that might have slipped in? Or of course just any general advice on how to kick-start me again for a loss next week.

Thank you all xx

(Today's proper blog will be up after work tomorrow morning!)

Night Owl Mode

So here we are once more, night shift time. The middle week of my rotation, and probably my favourite. Normally I'll try and get a ton of sleep under my belt on Monday so I'm wide awake all night, however, that didn't quite happen today.

Today marked Hague's first day at work in a fair old while. He's got a Christmas job with Royal Mail, and so we'll actually be able to afford Christmas this year :o) He was excited, but nervous too, and so he asked if I would drive him into work instead of just dropping him at the station. Seeing as we'll barely be seeing each other this week, I wans't going to pass up on some Hague time, and so I drove him into Norwich and dropped him off at work.

The plan was then to pop to Tesco to pick up some bits for him to have for lunch at work and then try to get some more sleep. Hmmm what do they say about the best laid plans? Rather than a quick trip to Tesco, I was in there for the best part of 45 minutes as I managed to attract ditherers both at the petrol station and in the shop. Then of course I needed something to eat. I was pretty hungry by now and so did myself a quick breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast with tomatoes and mushrooms before heading up for a nap.

My napping attempts were rather unsuccessful, I did try and nod off for about 30 minutes, but then gave up and watching Twilight (verdict - okay, but not as gripping as the books and I stand by my first instinct, RP and KS are not Edward and Bella). By now it was dinner time, and so that minimal effort favourite came to my resuce.

Jacket spud (one of the actual large ones from the market rather than Asda's laughable "jumbo" potatoes), stuffed with fat free cottage cheese and topped with 90g of reduced fat cheddar. Plus some salad on the side. By the time I'd eaten it was time to get ready for work and head out.

Now, I'm writing this at work, as it's been rather a patchy night. The line has been very start/stop, so I've been quite bored at times. If only I was allowed to have my Kindle on the line! Alas, I'm not, and so I have entertained myself with window shopping online for iPads, trying to find somewhre that is selling them for what I can afford, which is nothing, so I've not had much luck! Anyway, regardless of how the lines are running, I'm always peckish on nights, and tonight was no different. My first break snack was fruit and an Alpen Light, perfectly sweet to act as a sort of dessert to my potato, and boost those energy levels first thing.

Just half a pineapple and a handful of grapes, plus the cherry bakewell Alpen Light. Dinner actually followed on quite quickly, as breaks have been slotted in whilst the lines are idle. I still managed to eat my own brand of freezer ready meal - a Quorn casserole left over which was still rather delicious. So delicious in fact that I had eaten that AND the yogurt before remembering to take a photo - so I'm afraid all I have as photographic evidence of what I'd eaten are the empties! Sorry!

My final break wasn't long after dinner, and so I just had some water and a healthy dose of New Moon before heading back to work. Luckily 5.45am came around quite quickly and home beckoned!

I'm now home, and finishing my blog up with a milky hot chocolate before I head to bed, I'm very weary today and can't wait to get some sleep!

I'm quite excited about weighing in later on today, I've been 100% completely on plan, no flexi days, no over syn days, nothing.....it'll be interesting to see how I've fared! However, it's now edging ever closer to 7am and I need my sleep. Night night!

Happy/Sad

After blogging last night about what a lovely day I'd had, we sorted ourselves and got ready to head to bed. As per usual we sorted the animals out, sent Boo outside, fed the cats and checked on the Gerbils, but last night JCB didn't poke his nosey little head out when we went over. Hague delved around and found him curled up and obviously not great. We settled him back in expecting the worst and went up to bed.

After another decent night's sleep, I woke up worrying about JCB, but he was still hanging in which was a relief, and so we set about getting ready to head to The Parentals, who'd have thought that I'd be blow drying and straightening my hair on a Sunday, oh how times change :)

We hadn't been round to The Parentals for a while, so it was nice to catch up. My Nan was there as well, in good spirits and chatty, which is always nice to see. My Mum is the one paying for me to attend Slimming World, and so she served up a wonderful SW friendly dinner for me.

Potatoes and parsnips roasted in frylight and broccoli and cauliflower cheese made with LowLow, plus sweetcorn, peas and carrots. She looks after me doesn't she? She made sure Hague was properly fed ready for work tomorrow as well with his dinner including a giant yorkshire pud and 2 lamb chops! For dessert Mum was serving up vanilla cheesecake and apple pie, I resisted, but when she dished up Dad's apple pie she served it with some Carte D'or light ice cream. With my handy little SW app on my phone, I checked the syn value of the ice cream and discovered it was only 6.5 syns for 100g and so I had myself a dessert as well :)

With dinner eaten, we spent an hour or two just putting the world to rights and playing the Logo Quiz on Dad's iPad (have I mentioned how much I NEED one of those - I'll review it for my blog if anyone wants to give me one lol). It was a really nice afternoon, again, a nice simple afternoon but lovely nonetheless. When we were home, the first priority was checking on JCB. First of all we had to find him as TiggerPig had buried him under all the bedding - so obviously we feared the worst, but he was still going. He wasn't good though, quite lifeless and feeling cold, and so Hague and myself took it in turns just to hold him and gently stroke him until he was gone. Very sad, but at least we got to say goodbye to him. RIP little JCB :(

And so The Menagerie is reduced once again, just the one Gerbil left now, TiggerPig - who seems to be unphased and has been re-arranging the cage to his liking. Life goes on I guess.

Speaking of which, after getting all emotional over JCB, I realised that I was hungry again and threw together a quick dinner.

Pasta, with tomatoes, herbs, Quorn meatballs and mozzarella. Super quick and it'll keep me going until bedtime, which'll be a late one tonight as I'm working nights tomorrow.

So an odd day today. It's so hard to say goodbye to a pet, even a small one like a Gerbil, so that's obviously left me upset, but apart from losing JCB it's been a nice weekend. It's nice to get back to a point where my mood is mostly happy and optimistic, a lot of that is down to my depression and anxiety improving, but some of it is also down to me feeling better about myself. It's a rather good feeling to have.

A Glorious Day!

Today has just been lovely. From start to now, just lovely, it's not often you can say that about a day - and there's no huge reason for it - which almost makes it better :)

The day started off with a decent night's sleep and a wonderful lie-in, we were only woken up by the sound of the postman shoving the post through the letterbox. Normally this contains nothing but bills and bleaurgh, but today it included a lovely card with a note from my Consultant. She truly is amazing, and as I've said before, I know she will be supporting me right through to target and beyond. It was such a nice little boost to receive and it meant I started the day with a smile on my face.

We had planned to head into town early, but due to the rather long lie-in we didn't get out of the house until nearly 1pm. Not much of a problem though, and we wandered around various shops as a bit of an early birthday treat for Hague, as it's only a week now until his birthday. A couple of hours later and we had spent barely anything, but come home with lots of cheap DVD's, some gorgeous cherry tomatoes from the market and treats for The Menagerie. It was nice to be out as well, in yet another pair of jeans that I've slimmed back into, and my now faithful hat, which will probably be coming out a lot more often now the fringe is in place. Fringes and laziness do not mix ;)

The Press Play challenge influence is still strong - make up on, and an effort made with what I was wearing. I'm really enjoying it!  As I'd managed to resist the temptations of Great Yarmouth town - if you don't know Yarmouth, the market place has several chip stalls, all selling delicious fresh chips with toppings varying from ketchup through flavoured mayonnaises to curry sauce and cheese. The smell pervades through the whole market....but I didn't have any. Hague wanted pastry goods from Greggs, home of the delicious flaky b*stard that is the cheese and onion pasty...but I didn't have one. The willpower was strong in this one today! So by the time we got home, I was rather hungry and did myself a lovely huge brunch!

LM syn free sausages, with wedges, eggs and a mix of mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach. It really hit the spot, and was syn free as well, bit different to what chips and a pasty would have been eh? Saturday afternoon always involves Soccer Saturday in this house, and today was no different. There is something very comforting about having been out in the fresh air, and getting home and settling onto the sofa, nice and cosy with a cuppa. It just increased the happy mood of the day.

It took a while for me to get hungry again, but luckily when I did I had some of yesterday's soup ready and waiting, all it needed was nuking.

There wasn't a huge amount left, so I followed it up with a fruit salad. When I won Slimmer of the Week a week and a bit ago my basket contained a Pomegranate. I've never had one before, and I decided to throw caution to the wind and add it to my bowl of pineapple, grapes and banana. I actually really enjoyed it, another fruit that I like....another reason to be happy!

After I'd had the fruit salad, I decided to be a bit pro-active about this evening. We'd planned an evening of DVD's and normally we hit 9pm and realise we're hungry and both spend about half an hour in the kitchen not knowing what to eat. Not tonight, I decided to throw chilli ingredients into the slow cooker, so when we were hungry it would be ready.

Today's chilli had Quorn mince, onions, pepper, sweetcorn, baked beans, kidney beans, tinned tomatoes, garlic and chilli. Frozen, tinned and from a lazy jar. Bloody marvellous :) Topped with my HeA of cheese it was perfect for a night in. I put away 2 bowls, both topped with a HeA of cheddar. Nom.

Now, as you may have noticed, not a syn has passed my lips today. There was a reason for that. I have planned to use all of them on Vodka this evening.

I make 6 25ml measures of Vodka a round 15 syns, a great way to use them up on a Saturday night as far as I'm concerned! I finished up with a couple of Alpen Lights whilst enjoying my last Vodka and Ricky Gervais' stand up.

If you were one of the people that have liked or commented on the picture. Thank you, it means so much to me, and you have definitely helped make today such a glorious one :)

Happy Girl Is Here Again

Ah, the weekend. I love the weekend. Even though I've only managed two days at work this week, I'm rather pleased it's here!

The happiness didn't really start at 4.30am when my alarm went off though - it's insanely, painfully early, and it will never get easier for me! At least it wasn't raining, and at least the house was still standing after what sounding like a monsoon going on last night.

As always, my work food was much of a muchness I'm afraid, although I only ate on two breaks today.

Simple but it does the trick, a sliced apple and a cold bottle of water. The only coffee that is vaguely drinkable at work is the extra white, with extra sugar from the vending machine, and I'm not wasting syns on that, and so water it is - apparently it's just as good as caffeine anyway....

Breakfast was the usual I'm afraid.

I'm sure some people wouldn't be pleased with this banana, but the riper a banana is the more I enjoy them, they are so much sweeter when they're like this, although I accept that the rest of the bananas in this bunch will need eating pretty quick! In the bowl/box is 40g of simply fruity muesli with another banana mixed in, all washed down with yet more water.

On the way home I tried out a new Asda service, Click and Collect. It was rather pleasant just picking up all my shopping rather than fighting my way through the delights of a supermarket on a Friday afternoon, especially as Asda is on the way home anyway, and so the weekend could begin nice and early.

With a kitchen full of fresh veggies and a fridge full of dairy, what else was I going to have? One of my low effort favourites :)

Jacket spud stuffed with cottage cheese and topped with both my HeA's of reduced fat Cheddar. Cheesy-licious :) After neglecting my superfree yesterday, I'm back on board today and so had a salad of baby spinach, cucumber and peppers with my potato. After lunch, bed was calling and so I gave in and headed for a nap.

With a nap done, me showered and Boo bathed....

Can't you just tell how much she loves a bath? She has to have one every other day for a week as well with her medicated shampoo, methinks it will get harder and harder to get her upstairs as the week goes on. Poor Boo!

With everyone clean, the main business of the evening could begin. Relaxing :) After watching TV for a while, the hunger pangs started up again and I decided to have myself a bowl of soup, of course with shopping purchased, we had plenty of variety, but I went for the broccoli and spinach concoction I enjoyed the other day.

Another easy peasy one, onions and garlic softened, then some frozen broccoli, thyme and stock thrown in. Simmered for a while, spinach added and blended. Done :) I melted in 2 of the blue cheese Laughing Cow lights as well, which gave it a lovely creamy texture and another subtle taste. It's SO filling as well, that bowlful absolutely stuffed me, so I have more for the weekend, should I get peckish ;)

The evening has continued in a rather lovely vein, with quite a lot of Tom Hardy on the television (thank you Hague x), and some snacks whilst we watched the film.

A good way to round off the evening, with the grapes to refresh after the soup and the Alpen Light to sort out the sweet cravings. Once the film is done, I think it might just be sleep o'clock, we're heading into town tomorrow and so need to be out of the house at a reasonable hour!

Whilst perusing Facebook this evening, I saw a post someone had put up in one of the SW pages, saying that they loved seeing Before and After pictures. Now, my pictures are not quite Before and After, more like Before, and a bit later, but when I put the collage together I was quite surprised to see the difference in myself. Perhaps I should take more regular photos? That is the current Press Play challenge by the way, to take a photo, a nice flattering photo of yourself and put it onto Facebook, then keep a note of all the complimentary comments you get. I'm going to take one over the weekend for that challenge - although I've already experienced the boost of the compliments of a good picture with the debut picture of my new hairstyle, but hey, who can't take more compliments? :)

Anyway, I digress......I shall leave you with my Work In Progress collage, as Slimming World is all about 1/3rds, I present my 1/3 of the way there picture.

Feed Me Now!

I don't know what's wrong with me at the moment. I can't stop eating! Luckily, I'm sticking on plan, but I'm putting away quite a lot of food *blush*

Obviously with starting work at stupid o'clock, it does give me a lot of time to eat, and today the eating commenced at about 8am when I had my first break. Removing my hat wasn't the best idea though. The Fringe did not react well to being stuffed in a hairnet then covered with a hat, I spent the day looking like I had a mullet...not the best of looks! Oh dear....still, back to the food eh?

There were actually grapes involved, but I ate them all before I remembered to take a picture - what can I say? It's too early! My usual breakfast on earlies is muesli with yogurt and fruit and today was no exception :)

There were apples and bananas in the muesli, but we're running low on fruit so another banana it was to accompany it! I did have a Shape rhubarb crumble yogurt too, but didn't take a picture as I was planning on having it later, but was still hungry (theme of the week so it seems!). So breakfast was yogurt with banana, followed by yogurt and banana lol!

After a briefing after work, and then visiting the work shop, I finally got home at close to 4pm, weary and hungry. So hungry I couldn't even wait for dinner, so tucked into the leftover Quorn roast from last night.

I'm still rather loving the roasts, and have three more on the shopping list for this week :) Not long after that Hague declared that he fancied eggs, wedges and beans - so for once we ate the same meal, at the same time! Shocking behaviour!

Now, as you may have noticed, my superfree has been really lacking today. I know there are debates all over FB about the 1/3 superfree, but I tend to try and have it most days, but today, I've not quite managed it, despite fitting in quite a lot of fruit. I'm sure one day without quite so much veg won't hurt me though, guess the scales will tell eh?

After dinner, I wanted to wind down so headed for a bath, once again accompanied by my friendly little worms, who were demanding even more food! So I took some snacks with me - hehe - terrible really!

French Fries and some grapes, the perfect accompaniment to the second Twilight book - yep, I'm sucked in, Hague isn't impressed! After my nice relaxing bath I managed to sort my fringe out, so I'll look normal for a few hours at least before bed and work bugger it all up again :) Another early night beckons I'm afraid, although I'll have myself a sneaky hot chocolate before heading to bed, and I managed to squeeze in a Healthy Extra A as the milk has gone off....once again Domestic Goddess-ry passes me completely!

This week seems to have flown by, Thursday is now done with - and with it another deadline for Blowing Bubbles (the West Ham fanzine I write for) missed. Not good. I have to get a grip on things a bit more, my concentration seems to be focused on Slimming World and work at the moment, and I have to take time to complete other things that I enjoy too. Along with other little niggly jobs that seem to fall by the wayside. I'm going to try and set aside 30 minutes a day to get one of those little jobs sorted out every day. Organisation will become a skill I possess....maybe....or maybe I'll just get some jobs done :)

One Of Those Days

It really has been one of those days. I was planning on getting myself back to work today, as the longer I'm off the worse I feel, but woke up still feeling crappy so didn't go in. I did drag myself out of bed early though, in the hope that I will actually sleep tonight. Add to that the fact that Boo Dog needed to see the vet and you can see why it's been a rather crappy day.

I woke up hungry, but with no inclination to cook, and so resorted to a large cuppa (for a change) and then thought I'd treat myself to a nice sweet breakfast of pineapple, some of it was nice, but quite a lot of it was past it's best *sigh* Yep, one of those days.

After my breakfast, I felt quite nauseas, as has been the norm for this week, but Boo needed to go to the vets so off we went. I had expected some antibiotics, I ended up with ear drops, antibiotics AND shampoo as her problems all stem from her dodgy skin as it's causing little infections to build up and also caused infections in her ears - that's what has caused her ear lump, shaking her ears so much has burst blood vessels. Poor old Bayleigh Boo, and poor old Mummy's purse as that little lot of medication has cost £112, yes, that's £112.....thank goodness they'll wait for payday! As you can guess, it didn't improve my mood much, in fact I got home and all I wanted was a huge, greasy, filthy, Pizza Hut stuffed crust pizza. A million syns worth...I decided to have the leftover stew I should have taken into work today instead.

It tasted very nice, but it wasn't pizza, and it definitely didn't divert my craving, so about an hour later, after Hague had said that if I really wanted pizza that badly I should have it, I decided to try one more diversionary tactic...

Thankfully this one worked, even if it did involve all my healthy extras for the day, but with the cheese being reduced fat I really didn't have to skimp on it, and the massive cheeseyness seems to have done the trick! Well, it has done the trick on the pizza craving, but not on subduing the worms I seem to have today. A couple of hours later and I was hungry again! Thank goodness for free food eh?

I complimented the Quorn roast with a couple of the nibbles from my latest Graze box, both of which were 4 syns, one was a herby bread basket, with lots of crispy little munches, and one was mini basil baguettes with olive oil. Totally gorgeous, although the worms still weren't quite full and so I had dessert too!

Good old Eton Mess, with the last 20 of my mini meringues :( You'll also be pleased to know that I'm finally full! And as it's heading towards 9pm I'll be going to bed soon as well, as come hell or high water I'm going into work tomorrow!

Once again, I have failed to pass on the latest Press Play challenge, but I will, I promise, but for now, I have to let my huge dinner go down and get my butt into bed and asleep! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day - although to be honest, my mood has lifted already, I don't stay miserable for long :)

Another Sticky :)

Today has been a very odd day. I woke up with the vestiges of my migraine still hanging about, most notably the nausea and dizzyness. I'm guessing it wasn't helped by the joy of the arrival of "star" week. It meant I wasn't up to work again though :( and so once again I rang in and went to sleep for several more hours.

I woke up at about midday and got myself into a hot bath for a soak whilst Hague checked on Boo who has developed what seems like an abscess on her ear. Not good, but it has been a while since the faulty Miss Boo has cost us a fortune at the vets - it wasn't as bad today though, and so hopefully it'll drain on it's own. She seems okay though, so no need to panic just yet (hopefully).

After my soak, checking on Boo and losing myself in Twilight for a while it was time to get ready for weigh in. This used to involve throwing on my weigh in clothes and heading out. Now, thanks to Press Play and The Fringe, this involves hair straighteners and make up as well as throwing on my weigh in clothes :) I was hoping for 1lb, but wasn't sure after all, it was a week of a girlie lunch and we had a fair old drink on Wednesday.....but I was pleasantly surprised!

I'd lost another 1.5lbs, to give me a total loss of 4 stone 7.5lbs since mid June. I think chuffed is an understatement :)

I got home to a lovely dinner waiting for me courtesy of Hague. After he had toasted cheese sandwiches earlier today, I needed something cheesey and so pasta it was, loaded up with LowLow and grated cheddar.

There is some veg hiding in there, courgettes and spinach, but I'll be honest, it was mostly cheese and pasta. Delish. At class tonight, one of my lifelines, the lovely Sacha gave me the soup book, so I have no excuse not to try lots of lovely soups in the coming weeks. I can't wait. After dinner I had some pineapple as well, all sliced up for me by the bloody marvellous Hague :)

I'm still really loving the pineapple - and am having it as often as I can, well as often as funds allow! As I have to be out of here by 5am in the morning, and have a 12 hour shift to look forward to, I think you can forgive me for heading off to bed shortly, armed with a hot chocolate made with lots of milk as I've not had any syns today!
