A Very Late One!

It seems to have got to being very late at night without me really noticing! I was up reasonably early for me (1pm) so I'm not quite sure how today has so rapidly passed me by!

I didn't have a clue what to have for breakfast as the vast amount of eggs I've eaten over the last few days have been having a rather, erm, fragrant effect on me (is that TMI?, surely we're friends by now?), so I wanted to skip them today. Which left me with no idea what to that's why breakfast ended up looking like this.

A bit of a mish mash I'm sure you'll agree? Inside the toast are a couple of quorn sausages adorned with brown sauce (a tbsp full for 1 syn), which I thoroughly enjoyed! I bulked it out with an apple, banana and a yogurt. Strangely enough it did fill me up quite well, obviously a change every now and again does you good!

I had a pleasant surprise this afternoon when I noticed that A Bug's Life was on Channel 5 today. It's one of my favourite films, and I haven't seen it in years, so that whiled away a couple of enjoyable hours, and it did look gorgeous in HD as well :)

Despite going shopping on Friday, we seem to be rather low in fresh veg. That might have something to do with the fact that we bought alcohol rather than food, but we seemed well stocked at the time! So today's dinner was a very eclectic vegetable curry :)

The base was a tin of Asda's chickpea dahl, which is syn free, so great to keep in the cupboard. To that I just went a bit mad with adding veg! Courgette, mushroom, broccoli, cauliflower and a tin of carrots. I also threw in some Quorn steak strips. For a thrown together, store cupboad curry it was lovely. It might not have been a traditional Sunday dinner, but it did for me! Plus I have another healthy portion left over for another day :)

After watching Insidious (very scary!), hunger pangs hit once again, and I decided on a favourite snack of mine - even better with even more cheese. We've moved onto reduced fat cheddar this week you see, so my salsa wedges can be topped with a whopping 45g of cheese! Nom!

The salsa was just chopped tomatoes with some garlic, chilli, paprika, tex mex seasoning and some of my garlic and chilli grinder. That should most definitely keep me going until morning!

Hopefully a break from eggs today will do the trick, although replacing them with curry probably wasn't the best idea I've ever had....oh well :) I'm also hoping that if I nag remind Hague again tomorrow about setting up the Wii he will do as I really do fancy getting some Body Magic under my belt for the first time in ages. It's been so long I probably need to start back at Bronze again!

Reason #5 (and #6, #7 and #8!)

My family.

My Mum (far left), was so concerned about my health that she is paying for me to attend Slimming World as I can't afford it at the moment. I'd also like to see my two beautiful Nieces (in the middle), Jenna and Carys grow up and make their way in the world. As you can see, this picture was taken on a 95th birthday, my Nan's (front - obviously) and I'd like to think that a healthy me would have a fighting chance of celebrating such an amazing birthday myself...

Finally, and anyone with a sister will appreciate this sentiment.....I've ALWAYS been the fat sister. I want that to change ;)

  1. I love cheese so have taste tested most of the reduced fat ones available and the best one I've found is Tesco Extra Mature. There is plenty of mature cheddar available but that's the only extra mature reduced fat cheese I can find.

    1. That's the one I've got! I have to have my cheddar extra mature :)
