Busy and Buzzing!

It may have been a short week, but so far I've managed to go in every day, including my two 12 hour shifts. Much as I'm hoping this week might be over, chances are I'll be in tomorrow as well. However, I'm rather proud of myself for getting through what a few weeks ago would have been utterly impossible.

The early mornings are killing me though, this morning I was half zombie. Not surprising when my latest app told me I'd only got 4 and a half hours sleep! (Sleep Time - free app and I love it.)  Once again I was hungry early, so ate my yogurt and muesli early. It's testament to just how sleepy I am that I only think about taking the picture of my food once it's gone - oops! I'm sure you don't need pictures of my apple, banana and Harvest Morn bar though, do you? :)

After a long day spent cleaning, and then cleaning some more - and realising that a white shirt was probably the worst choice I could possibly have made today, work was done, and by the time I left at 2pm I was SO hungry! I quite fancied pasta and meatballs, but meatballs are a faff to make with Quorn, and we had no ready made ones, so I came up with the idea of using chopped up Linda McCartney rosemary and red onion sausages instead.

The sausages were cooked, and then added to a sauce made with tinned tomatoes, onion, basil, garlic and some tomato puree, poured over pasta and then topped with 30g of cheddar. The sausages really worked as "meatballs". The rosemary taste of them was perfect in the tomatoey sauce too. One to be added to the regular menus I think, especially as it was syn free!

Now, sometimes a girl needs a treat. When that treat costs nothing it's all the harder to say no, and so I put some of my syns towards just such a little treat today. I am a BzzAgent. What that means is that I get sent products to try out and then spread the word about them. I usually get a free sample and some vouchers to give to people as well. Quite often the products are things like cat food, cleaning products and even sanitary products, food isn't always a focus, however, my current campaigns are BOTH food, and not just any food - cookies and cider. I know. So, being the selfless person that I am, I bit the bullet and tasted one of the new Tesco Bakery cookies. I'd looked up the nutritional information (eventually!) and worked out that just ONE of the gorgeous looking, white chocolate and cranberry stuffed cookies would be 13 1/2 syns! Ouch! However, needs must, and so along with a huge cup of tea I had half a cookie....

Oooh it was good, chocolatey, crumbley and squidgy. Just gorgeous, and I even managed to stick to just that half for 7 syns. Much as it was delicious, I'm not sure I'd splash out nearly a whole days syns on one of them too often! And I must apologise for posting a picture of a scrummy cookie on a dieting blog....sorry!! Mind you, I bloody hope all this willpower counts on the scales when I'm able to get back to group - maybe there should be a sticker for super human willpower lol!

Due to two enormous cups of tea, and the rather massive portions of lunch, I won't be fitting dinner in tonight, I'm just too full, and don't want to eat for the sake of it. I'll probably be up at 4.30am again anyway, so can eat then eh?

    2. Yes I have tried the tinned chick pea from asda but it tasted too processed if you get me. The Ainsley tastes so much nicer you can add all sorts to it. Its syn free so there's enough for two days.
