Out and About

Every fortnight or so (holidays and things are muddling things at the mo) my other half sees his boys. They live in Barnsley, we live in Great Yarmouth and so it's a long day out of the house. At the moment, he sees the boys on his own, so I'm left to my own devices for the day.

The Barnsley trips used to involve a stop at McDonalds for breakfast, where I'd usually have 2 egg muffins and 2 hash browns, followed by a lunch purchased at Morrisons, which usually involved cake and a cheesy sandwich (at the very least). Then when we got home, the usual quick dinner was a pizza. Now, obviously, that's not quite a Slimming World friendly menu, and so my choices have had to change.

Today, I took a couple of Aldi cereal bars to eat whilst we were heading up, and then took a huge packed lunch for me to graze on all day. Yesterday's couscous quiche made a chilled reappearance, with a potatoey salad, and a box full of fruit. As a bit of a treat I bought some Morrisons sushi as well, expecting it to be low in syns, when in fact it was free! So this little lot....
...kept me going all day! The total syns in all of this was 2, and that was for the mayo on the potatoes :)

After a 3 1/2 hour drive home, the last thing you want to do is come home and cook from scratch, and as I am far too un-organised to put something in the slow cooker to be ready when we get in, a quick meal was in order. As I'd only had one each of my HeA and HeB, I just had some 98% fat free supernoodles, topped with some cheese and with some bread, after all, there is nothing you can't buttify*
Find of the day was definitely the sushi though. It's perfect out and about food, and as well as being syn free is considerably cheaper than a sandwich!

*buttify - to make sandwiches (butties) out of any (and I do mean any) food!
