Hitting A Low

As I've mentioned before, I'm on the road to recovery from depression, it's been a long journey, and I'm practically there, but unfortunately every now and again I hit a blip. Today has been a blip, I woke up and felt myself fall into an immediate panic attack, the anxiety didn't leave for hours. Before, I may have filled up on comfort food, but today, I stayed on plan, just went for easy options for my meals, minimal effort, but 100% on plan.
Breakfast was some pineapple we already had in the fridge with a HeB of Dorset Cereals muesli and fat free natural yogurt, easy peasy and very filling.

It might not look overly appetising, but it tasted delicious :)

As I've been feeling a bit fragile all day, I was glad I had some bits and bobs in the fridge, lunch was the other Baked Gnocchi from the other day with a yogurt, and dinner was that old stand by a bowl of pasta with courgettes and cheese.

Sometimes you just need to take the easy route, the trick is to make sure you have plenty in the store cupboard and fridge/freezer to allow you to have a day with no effort, otherwise it's just all too easy to get a takeaway. We always have pasta in the cupboards, as well as things like tinned tomatoes and beans, so a meal can always be had. It might not be adventurous, but it's dinner, it's healthy and it's filling, which is all that matters some days.

Healthy Extras
A - 2 x 30g Cheddar
B - 40g of Dorset Cereals muesli (still sticking to one HeB)

Cheese on top of the gnocchi   3 syns

I'm glad I got through today without resorting to anything too synful, I'm also hoping that tomorrow is a better and brighter day!

    I don't know that I've told you, but I've suffered with seriously debilitating depression and anxiety for years (also working down that road toward recovery). Having said that, I know that today must have been such a struggle, but I was rejoicing for you as I read your post. You did it! You've had a rough day AND you stayed on plan. There will be rough days, but you now have experience in riding the waves healthy style. Okay, so I've rejoiced for you. Now I'm wishing all healthy things cozy and comforting for you. If it's okay, I'll pray for you too.
